Because the installation version should be installed by the optical drive, you need to use the virtual optical drive when installing the USB flash drive, first, prepare a boot USB flash drive (if you have not made a boot USB flash drive, you can refer to the first article in this series, how to create a boot USB flash drive), a Windows XP installation version of the system image file, A virtual optical drive (generally, a USB flash drive PE carries this software. If it does not exist, you can download it online ).?????? The preparation is complete. Next we will teach you how to install the WinXP installation system.

Steps for installing the WinXP installation version:

1. First download the original Windows XP sp3 Simplified Chinese version + genuine key on the Internet. The image file is about MB, which can be downloaded to the hard disk or saved to the USB flash drive. We recommend that you store it on the hard disk, the installation speed is faster.

2. Insert the USB flash drive into the computer and enter the shortcut menu after boot. Generally, press F12 on the computer to enter the shortcut menu. If it is an old-fashioned computer, enter the BIOS, set the USB flash drive as the first boot item. For more information, see the instructions on your computer or go to the Internet.

After entering the USB flash drive, select "run Windows PE (system installation)" and install the PE on the computer.

 

3. It takes about two minutes to install the PE. after entering the PE interface, select "start", select "image tool" in the sub-menu, and then click "VDM virtual Optical Drive" at the next level, enable the virtual Optical Drive.

 

4. After opening the virtual optical drive, select the "load..." button on the interface to load the WinXP image file we downloaded.

5. Go to the sub-interface, select the path of the WinXP image file, and click "Browse.

Note: Here is an allocation drive letter. The default value is A:, because most computers do not have A soft disk. If there is A soft disk on some old-fashioned computers, :, because this A: The drive letter belongs to A soft disk, it should be changed to B: drive letter at this time.

6. Go to the file selection box and select the system image file WinXP to be installed. The suffix is iso. After the selection, click "open ".

7. WinXP. the iso system image file is loaded to the virtual optical drive. At this time, check whether the downloaded system file is selected. After confirming, go to the "my computer" page.

8. In "my computer", you can see the virtual optical drive A:, select it, and double-click it.

9. After Entering the virtual optical drive, we don't have to worry about it. First, create a folder on the drive other than the system drive C.

Note: Do not create this folder in drive C. You can directly create this folder in the root directory of another disk, or in the root directory of a USB flash drive. You can obtain the folder name as needed, however, it cannot contain Chinese characters. Because the installation file is installed in DOS, DOS does not support Chinese characters. Otherwise, the installation system fails, so it cannot be left blank.

Here we create an xp sp3 folder under drive F, select all the files and folders in the virtual optical drive, and copy them all to the F: \ xp sp3 folder using the copy method.

 

10. After copying the file, find the isung folder under the F: \ xp SP3 folder. Then find the winnt32.exe file in the folder and double-click it to run. Because there will be many files in the i386 folder. If this file cannot be found, you can enter F: \ xp sp3 \ terminal in the address bar to run the command.

Double-click the winnt.exe file and the installer starts. Select "new installation" as the installation type, and then press "Next".

12. Go to the license agreement page, select "accept agreement", and click "Next ".

13. Go to the Product Key page and enter the key. If it is a CD, the product key can be found in the package. If it is an image file downloaded online, the product key is generally in the read me file in the iso file. Enter the product key and press "Next ".

14. The region language "Chinese (China)" is automatically selected here, which is generally the default value.

15. This page is used to upgrade the computer file system to the NTFS format. If your computer still has windows 95 or Windows 98 systems that are relatively old, do not upgrade them to the NTFS format, you need to select "skip this step". If it is a WinXP or later system, generally select the NTFS file system format. After the selection, press "Next ".

 

16. Here is the process of copying the image file to drive C. It may take about an hour to check the computer performance and decide the length of time. After the prompt is displayed, the computer will be restarted automatically, after the restart, you will enter the new automatic installation phase, there will be no manual settings, then you can unplug the USB flash drive until the installation is complete, enter the Windows XP system interface.

Installing "WinXP installation version" with winnt.exe is a simple automatic installation method. It takes only a dozen steps. This method is the simplest of the following methods to install "WinXP installation version, it is more suitable for beginners to install the system. If you use setup.exe in the image for installation, there will be more than 20 steps, so it is not recommended to use it. Beginners should first start from a relatively simple installation.
