Because the volume of WinPE is often only hundreds of MB, so in order to avoid wasting too much hard disk space, we need to separate a small space for WinPE hard disk partition. Specifically, we need to perform the following steps:

The first step: do the hard disk last partition data backup work (the author for e disk), then unpack and run the Diskgenius, then right click on the e disk shown in the figure below, select "Delete Current section", delete it, right-click the deleted partition, select "Partition → create New Partition", and then open " Create a new Partition dialog box, change the value 16 in the new partition's large skew to 15 and click OK.

Step Two: Click the "Apply Changes" button in the main interface to make the partition operation for e disk effective. After the hard disk has been repartition, the next step is to add a boot prompt menu so that the WinPE in the hidden partition can be run properly even if the system crashes. The boot prompt menu is added with the following specific methods:

First run the extracted "Grubinst_gui.exe", then click the Drop-down arrow to the right of the disk radio box and select (hd0) [41863MB] (this parameter means the total size of your own local hard disk, different computers are not exactly the same); and then click Partition List The Refresh button on the right, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the partition list, and select the new entire disk (MBR) option that appears inside.

After you have done this, check the "Do not search for floppy disk at startup" and "boot to original MBR" checkbox below the options "." Set the "Wait Time" and "Hotkey" parameters (for example, the former is 3, the latter is F9), and finally click the "Install" button, a DOS prompt window will pop up, press ENTER at this time, It completes the add operation of the boot prompt menu.

Iii. installation of WinPE and concealment of partitions

Double-click the downloaded WinPE compressed package "Winpe.rar" and extract it to the root of disk F to complete the WinPE installation operation, then run Diskgenius, right-click the column diagram representing F, select partition → hide current section, and then click Apply Changes button and turn off the Diskgenius, and then complete the hidden operation of the F disk.

After you have done this, reboot the system and when the "press F9 to start GRUB ..." Prompt is pressed, click F9 shortcut, and then you can see the WinPE boot menu, and in the Startup window, select "Start Windows PE" and press ENTER. You can start the WinPE normally.

When we log in to WinPE, we can see all the partitions on the local hard drive, so that it is convenient to perform a data backup after the system crashes or to repair the system, while in Windows, the hidden partition where the WinPE resides is not visible, So as to avoid the WinPE of the virus caused by the failure of their normal use of the occurrence.
