How to make a reflection

Reflection in Photoshop image production process, especially when the image synthesis, sometimes need to make images of the reflection. Using Photoshop to make a reflection is simple, as illustrated below.

1. Open two puppy images, as shown in the first two images above. We add the puppy in the second picture to the first picture and make it a companion. As it is at the water's edge, it is necessary to consider giving the second puppy a reflection of the waters when making it.

2. Switch to the second picture, use the magnetic lasso tool to select the puppy, and then press CTRL + C to copy the image from the selection to the Clipboard.

3. Switch to the first image, press CTRL + V key combination to copy the puppy selected in the second image to the new layer. Name the new layer dog2.

4. Select the menu item "Edit/transform/numeric" to perform a numerical transformation of the DOG2 layer. In the Numeric dialog box, select the "Constraint proportions" (locked) item and set Width to 54%.

5. Use the Mobile tool to adjust the position of the dog2 to the first puppy and stand beside the water.

6. Drag the DOG2 layer to the "Create New Layer" button on the layers panel to copy the DOG2 layer. Name the copied layer as reflection.

7. Confirm that the current layer is reflection layer, select the menu item "Edit/transform/flip vertical" and flip the layer image vertically.

8. Use the mobile tool to move the flipped reflection layer so that it is positioned in the dog2 image.

9. Select the filter "Filter/blur/gaussian", the reflection layer of Gaussian blur, fuzzy radius radius of 2pixels.

10. At this time the reflection effect has been made, merging layers.

The reflection is actually a copy of the original image, only considering the mapping relationship between them, so it has been flipped vertically. In addition, usually the reflection is more obscure than the original image, so fuzzy filter is used to deal with it.
