How to make mobile downloads fly together with LTE and Wi-Fi

With the rapid popularization of 4G terminals, LTE seems to be the fastest-transmitting mobile network technology. However, with the gradual rise of 4 k hd videos, how can we further break through the transmission speed in mobile networks?

Based on the current network resource configuration in Beijing, the theoretical peak rate of the downlink network is about 80 Mbps, And the uplink peak rate is about 20 Mbps, but limited by the terminal capabilities, the end side configures a downstream peak rate of about 60 Mbps on the current network, and the upstream speed is about 20 Mbps. Therefore, it is difficult to use the existing transmission rate to cope with 4 k hd videos in the future.

Recently, SK Telecom, a Korean Carrier, claims to have developed a new Carrier Aggregation technology that can use both LTE and Wi-Fi networks to transmit data, it is expected to start the 1 Gbps High-Speed Mobile transmission era. Carrier aggregation refers to integrating two or more bands and increasing the bandwidth.

The carrier aggregation technology combined with LTE and Wi-Fi can greatly improve the mobile transmission rate.

It is reported that the three-band LTE download speed is 300 Mbps. Combined with the 866.7Mbps of 11AC Wi-Fi in 2*2 architecture, the carrier aggregation function can be expanded to enable 1 Gbps wireless transmission, theoretically, the maximum speed is 1.17 Gbps. The operator said that in the future, it would only take 8.5 seconds to download 1 GB of data, and 4 K movies won't get stuck.

If this technology is commercially available, users' mobile downloads will be faster in the future. Even if you watch 4 K videos online, the screen can be played smoothly. Compared with the current technology, three-band LTE-A to download 1 GB files only takes 28 seconds; LTE-A bandwidth takes 38 seconds.

At present, the carrier has carried out a multi-path transmission test to reach 600 Mbps at the fastest speed, and said it will continue to increase the technology and network scale to 1 Gbps. LeeJong-bong, executive vice president of the operator's network department, said that the company will be moving towards a 5g multi-packet network by demonstrating smooth 4g carrier aggregation transmission technology.
