Simple three steps to easily create a mobile Win8

Step 2: Add a vhd boot item for the mobile hard drive

Decompress the Win8 system image with the decompression software, for example, decompress it to the "D: \ Win8" directory, and then copy the "D: \ Win8 \ bootmgr" file and "D: copy the \ Win8 \ Boot folder to the root directory of the primary partition of the mobile hard disk.

Run "bootice" again, switch to the "BCD compilation" tab, select "BCD files in other locations", and click "Browse" to select the "Boot \ BCD" file just copied to the mobile hard disk. Click View/modify. In the displayed window, click Add → windows nt6.x vhd startup item, and add vhd startup according to the following settings:

 

Target Disk: current mobile hard disk

Start partition: The current mobile hard drive flow main partition (usually the first partition)

Device File: \ win8.vhd

Menu title: Start vhdwin8

 

Others adopt the default settings. Select the new vhd boot menu, click "set as default system", and then click "Retain current system settings ".
 

 

 Step 3: Install Win8 in the vhd file and copy it to the mobile hard disk

Everything is ready, only vhd. We only need to install Win8 in the vhd file. Once it is started successfully, it can be copied to the mobile hard disk for startup. The following is how to operate on Windows 7.

First, place the Windows vhd auxiliary processing tool on the d disk for backup. Then, use the system's "disk Governance" tool to create a 10 Gb or larger vhd file in the NTFS partition, for example, "d: \ win8.vhd ". After the creation is successful, select the new vhd disk in disk governance to complete the "initialization". Then, follow the prompts to create a primary partition, format, and activate the created primary partition on the vhd disk.

Restart the Windows 7 system, press F8 and select "repair computer", open the "command prompt", enter "D: \ vhd_onekey_2011.exe", and press enter to start the "Windows vhd auxiliary processing tool ", start the tool, select "Mount/uninstall vhd", browse and select the "D: \ win8.vhd" created earlier, and click "Mount vhd" (4 ).

After vhd is mounted, Run "D: \ Win8 \ sources \ setup.exe" at the command prompt to start the Win8 installer, after selecting "Where do you want to install Windows" (where to install), follow the prompts to install the system to the previously mounted vhd disk, it is usually Disk 1 partition1 (that is, 1st partition of Disk 1, disk 0 is the local disk, and disk 4 ).

After the installation is complete, start vhdwin8 and enter the desktop, restart the computer to enter the original win7 system, and change "D: \ win8.vhd "is copied to the primary partition of the mobile hard disk. So far, mobile Win8 has been created.

 

If you do not want to retain Win8 files on the local machine, you can start "bootice" after Win8 is installed, switch to the "BCD compilation" tab, and select the "Boot \ BCD" file on the local machine, click "View/modify". In the displayed window, select the first "Windows 7" startup Item to delete it, and then delete the "D: \ win8.vhd" file.

Now we only need to insert the mobile hard disk on the computer that supports USB boot, and set the mobile hard disk to the first boot in BIOS to use the mobile vhdwin8. When you log on to Win8 for the first time on another computer, the system will prompt that the user configuration file cannot be loaded. In this case, you only need to log off the desktop and log on again.

It is also worth mentioning that the Win8 system has improved its adaptability to different devices.
