1.Photo navigation principles

Generally, all images are in JPG format, which can be embedded with EXIF information. EXIF is used to record photo attributes and shooting information, and coordinate information data is a part of EXIF information. In a word, the photo navigation device reads the coordinates in the photo to navigate the coordinates.

2.Three-Step photo navigation

The first step is to take a photo and record the coordinates. The second step is to process the photo so that it carries the coordinate information, and the third step is to directly navigate to the navigation device.

3.Instance description

This article uses the photos taken by the author in some places as an accumulation, and presents the entire photo navigation process to users. OK. Let's get started.

Step 1: record the coordinates of a photo.

You must have a camera to take the photo. For convenience, you can use your mobile phone to take the photo. The mobile phone model is Nokia N72. The recorded coordinates must have a navigator. Let's take the popular anyway game 760 on the market. Now.

Take out the camera and take a photo. After taking the photo, immediately Save the current position as a favorite on the 760 device. Try not to go too far to remember to save the favorite point, in this way, it is very easy for others to navigate to this position with your photo to restore the scene when you take the photo.

Note: When saving the current position as a favorite point, make sure that the GPS signal is correctly located. Otherwise, saving it as my favorite point will lose its meaning. In addition, it is recommended that you enter a name corresponding to the current location or a name that is easy to distinguish, instead of a series of numbers like 001 and 002 that will need to be re-recalled for differentiation during subsequent processing.

Step 2: process the photo on the computer and place the photo with coordinates. This step is critical.

After taking the photo, we need to process it. What software will we use?

Software List:

Picasa: a free image management software developed by Google, which is mainly used to manage photos.

Google Earth: Google's free Earth browsing software allows you to view satellite images from around the world.

With these two software, we can basically complete our photo navigation and editing work. Download and install the tool. After the installation is complete, continue with the operation.

A. Copy the photo to your computer.

Remove the memory card from your mobile phone, copy the photo to your computer, and store it in a directory, such as the C: \ photodemo directory.

B. Export Coordinate Position Data

Connect game 760 to your computer through a USB data cable. When the computer recognizes the device memory as a disk drive, copy the device memory: \ Garmin \ GPX \ current. GPX file to your computer.

This file is a tracking file.

(For details, refer to how to use the mapsource tool to export the GPX data file :)

Mapsource: The data management software produced by Garmin. You can edit, manage, import, and export flight paths.

After the installation is complete, run the mapsource tool to connect the gps device to the computer through the USB data cable. After the computer recognizes the gps device, select transfer in mapsource-receive from the device menu (1 ), after the following figure is displayed, select the flight point and click OK (as shown in figure 2). All the flight points are in mapsource (3. You can see the number of flight points ). Select another file under the File menu (4 saved as another file), select GPX format in the storage type (5 saved as a GPX file), and save the file. The GPX data file is exported.

C. Use the Picasa software and Google Earth software to add coordinates to the photos.

Open the pcasa software, select menu-Add the folder to Picasa (5), find the directory where the image is located, and select always scan (6 ), after confirmation, the photo is automatically displayed in Picasa (7 ).

Figure 6. Locate the directory where the photo file is located and select always scan.

Figure 7 shows the image added to Picasa.

Run the Google Earth software, select open from the menu, or use the shortcut key Ctrl + O. In the displayed dialog box, select GPS for the file type (*. GPX ,*. find the directory of the GPX file in step B, and open it (8 ). The information in the file appears on the left panel of the Google Earth software (9)

Figure 8. Open the GPX file

Figure 9. The GPX file's AVG point appears on the panel.

Go back to the Picasa software and select Tools-Geo tag-use Google Earth tag (10). Then, Google Earth software will go to the main interface and Display photos in Picasa (11 ).

Figure 10: use Google Earth to mark

Figure 11 shows a picture in the lower right corner.

OK. Now you can mark the photo. First, check the current photo in 11, which is the Bird's Nest. Therefore, double-click the Bird's Nest flight point in Figure 9, wait until the target is moved to the bird's nest and the position is stable (Be sure to wait for the position to be stable or the coordinate position will be faulty). Click the mark geotag button in Figure 11 to complete the coordinate mark of the photo, automatically enters the next image. This operation completes all the photos, selects the confirm done button in Figure 11, and returns to Picasa. All the photos are added with the coordinates. From Picasa, you can see that there is a difference between a photo and a photo without a geographical mark, and the bottom right corner of the image with a geographical mark is marked.

Figure 12 differs from images without geographical tags.

Note: National Laws and Regulations on map of mainland China require encryption of all navigation electronic maps to encrypt real longitude and latitude coordinates into pseudo coordinates, therefore, the coordinates of the flight point in the GPX file do not match the actual location of the object in Google Earth. However, be sure to use the pseudo coordinates to mark the image. Otherwise, all the photos cannot be properly navigated to this position, all Photos downloaded from the panoramio website cannot be properly navigated on the mainland navigation electronic map.

Step 3: addGPSNavigation in devices

Copy all the completed photos to the JPEG directory of the 760 memory of anygame. You can perform the following operations on the navigation device:

Select where you want to go

Select photo navigation

You can see the completed photo here. Select a nest.

After selecting the bird's nest, you can see the name and thumbnail of the photo. Click the thumbnail to see the big picture. Click Browse map to see the location of the photo.

Click the navigation button to start your photo flight guide.
