How to normalize ArcGIS

Vectoring of ArcGIS:

1. Process for editing In ArcMAP:

1. Open ArcMAP.

2. Create a Shapfile layer (point, line, and surface) in ArcCatalog and drag it into ArcMAP.

3. Load the map to ArcMAP and add the Editor toolbar.

4. Click Edit in the Editor toolbar and click OK. You can start the vectoring process.

Tip: There are several shortcut keys to try, good, Z, zoom in, X, zoom out, C, move, V, show node. Remember to save the result.

2. Create new features:

We can create three main types of features: point, line, and surface. In order to create a line and a plane, we must first create a sketch. The sketch consists of nodes and line segments. How to draw points, lines, and surfaces is relatively simple !) The key is how to use these tools (Sketch construction tools:

Sketch tool: it is mainly used to create nodes for line and surface features. after you have finished the Sketch, ArcMAP will add the final line segment to form a vector chart.

Arc tool: This mainly helps you create an Arc segment. After selecting this tool, click it at the starting point of the Arc segment, click the approximate position in the height direction of the arc section (This point is invisible, but it just determines the height of the Arc Section). At the end point of the arc section, an arc section is formed.

Direction-distance tool: this tool mainly determines a point from a known Direction and a certain distance. First, point a point in the known direction. This is a line. After you have determined the direction, click the point in the known distance. This is a circle. After the distance is determined, there is a point between the straight line and the circle, this is the point you want. Click it again!

Distance-distance tool: this is the same principle as above, but it uses Distance to determine a point, that is, two circles to determine the point you want.

Endpoint arc tool: This is also used to create an Arc segment. Unlike the arc tool, it first points at the starting point of the Arc segment and then at the end point of the arc segment, click another point to determine the arc radius. I personally think this tool is more accurate than the Arc tool.

Intersection tool: determines a point using two straight lines. It's easy to use!

Midpoint tool: a tool used to determine the Midpoint. For example, you can click one side first and then the other side of the road. Then, the Midpoint of the road appears automatically.

Tangent curve tool: a Tangent arc tool that can draw a Tangent on a line segment. You can use this tool only when you use other tools to draw a line segment.

Trace tool: it is mainly used to track existing features, such as building a house. You need to draw a line (such as a wall) along the perimeter of the house, so you can use this tool very conveniently, at the beginning, you must press the O key to set the padding of the next trace, for example, 100. There are three corner points in the method: mitered is a right-angle bevelled is a blunt-angle rounded is a rounded corner. OK. Now, the basic tools are fully described.

3. Other operations

The above is mainly about basic vectoring operations, but there may be many problems in our specific operations, such as a line painting is not so well-formed! What should you do if you want to change it? The first thing to do is to select this line:

1. Make layers Optional: click selection, click set selectable layers, and click the layer you want to select.

2. Click the black arrow in the editing tool. You can select the features you want, and then you can move, modify, delete, copy, cut, and paste the features.

Tip: in overlapping features, you can press the N key to select the features you want. To select multiple features, you can press the Shift key. You can also press the left mouse button to draw a rectangle, all features in the rectangle are selected. More tools are provided in selection, and you can select them using SQL.

Conclusion: These are the most basic vectoring operations In ArcMAP. There are also some advanced tools In ArcMAP to perform more complex operations.
