Users who have updated/downloaded OS X Mountain Lion may be aware of the system's own gatekeeper feature, which is primarily used to prevent viruses and malicious programs from damaging the Mac. Therefore, in the default environment of the system, only apps downloaded from the Mac App Store or "certified developers" will be opened.
But what if you want to open a software that does not contain viruses and malicious programs but is not certified by Apple (such as jailbreak software)? Today we bring you a "watch" that bypasses gatekeeper, allowing you to run your favorite apps smoothly.
Method One: Single operation (do not change the settings of gatekeeper)
This is the method we recommend, both to ensure that the integrity of the gatekeeper intact security, but also to meet the user wants to open an unauthenticated application, when running an unauthenticated application, the system will automatically eject the following
dialog box, you can open the app by temporarily revoking the gatekeeper monitoring method. Before you introduce the tutorial, make sure that the app you downloaded is safe!
1. Hold down the CTRL key and click Apply (or right-click the app) and select "Open" in the popup menu.
2. You will see the following dialog box that says "app cannot be opened":
3. Select "Open" and the app will be "forced to run". It's a reminder that every time you run this app, you go through this step.
Method Two: How to change the settings of gatekeeper to run/prohibit unauthenticated applications
If you are not frequently downloading apps from unofficial channels, we recommend that you do not try this method. If you insist on changing the gatekeeper setting, please think twice.
1. Open System Preferences
2. Select the "Privacy and security" icon in the second row and open
3. Click on the "General" tab
4. If the contents of the window are gray, you can click on the lock icon in the lower left corner. After you enter your "manager" password, you can start changing the settings for gatekeeper.
5. Depending on your preference, the type of application that can be opened by default is not selected (it is recommended that you choose "Mac APP Store and certified developer")
6. After the selection is complete, you can exit the Preferences window directly. At this point, the changes are all complete.
Finally, we remind you to choose method One, if you insist on the choice of method two, we recommend that you choose "Mac App Store" and "Mac App Store and certified developers" two options, because this will prevent your system from malicious programs or viruses attack.
