Problem with Cisco router password recovery

The Cisco 2500 router has several passwords, including the Enable secret,enable password,telnet password, and so on. The Enable secret is the most important, the password must be forgotten after the use of extraordinary means to recover. The following is a brief description of the password recovery process:

Router Power off

Router Power

Press Ctrl+break in 30 seconds, display > on terminal

Execute the O/R 0x2142 command

Perform I command reboot router

After the router enters the setup mode, use CTRL + C to exit the mode

Use enable to enter Super User mode under router>: router#

Execute copy start running command

Modify New Password

Modify register value to 2102, (router-config) #config-R 0x2102

Exit and Save Configuration
