We have previously introduced the preview function of Windows Vista, that is, viewing the specific content of a file without opening the corresponding file. This is a very useful function, this greatly improves the efficiency of daily work. The preview function of Windows Vista supports image, audio, video, Font, text, e-mail, and even Office documents such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
However, for the PDF (Portable Document Format) file, it is not so lucky, even if you have installed Office 2007 where you can create a PDF in Windows Vista, you still cannot preview the PDF file. To view the content of the corresponding PDF file, you have to install and run Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Recently, Tim Heuer released a new tool named PDF Preview handler, which allows users without Adobe Acrobat Reader to Preview PDF files in resource manager or Outlook 2007.
This tool does not require any other settings. You can use it after the installation is complete. In this way, when you select a PDF file in the resource manager, its content is displayed in the Preview pane.
In addition, it should be noted that the tool does not have any problems in support of Chinese PDF files. This is the preview of the PDF file in chapter 3 of the Windows Vista User Guide on the Vista world website. You can see that the content of this PDF file, including the pictures and Chinese characters, is correctly displayed.
