Specific methods:
To search for corrupted files in the Windows XP installation disk, it is important to note that the last character of the file name is replaced with the bottom line "_", for example: "Notepad.ex_" is required to search for "Notepad.exe".
Search for required files
After the search has been made, open the command-line mode (enter "cmd" in "Run") and enter: "Full path to the full path destination file of the EXPAND source file". For example: EXPAND d:setupnotepad. Ex_ C:windowsnotepad.exe. One thing to note is that if there are spaces in the path, you need to include the path in double quotation marks (quotation marks).
Finding out is certainly the best, but sometimes we don't find the files we need when we search in the Windows XP disk. One reason for this is that the file you are looking for is in a "CAB" file. Because Windows XP treats "Cab" as a folder, for Windows XP systems, simply drag and copy the "Cab" file to the appropriate directory.
If you are using a different Windows platform, search for the "CAB" file that contains the destination file name. Then open the command-line mode and enter: "extract/l the full path of the destination CAB file", for example: extract/l c:windows d:i386driver.cab Notepad.exe. As with the previous face, you need to enclose the path in double quotation marks, as if there are spaces in the path.
