How to refresh bios on a MSI Motherboard

I found some information to refresh the bios and recorded it for backup. Documents translated from MSI k8n GM-V BIOS 1.0

Since my board is an ami, I only translated the AMI BIOS refresh Part.

2. Check the BIOS flash disabled item in your BIOS and set it to available. Some boards have this function.
4. Determine the model of your motherboard
   1. Open your chassis and check the labels between PCI slots on the motherboard With the MS-XXXX on it. Write down this number and pay attention to the version number marked here.
   2. Start your system. During the post process, you should see"A6380ms v1.7 v1.7 122101"This indicates that the motherboard isMS-6380,BiosVersion is1.7.

      Tip: many systems will soon clear this message, and the BIOS version becomes unreadable. You can press "pause" or disable "Quick boot" in BIOS settings.

6. Download the BIOS that matches your motherboard and version. The BIOS can be searched by the CPU type supported by the motherboard.
8. Double-click to decompress the downloaded BIOS document to C: \ test.
10. Start your machine on the Win98 or winme boot disk.

    (Start to pure dos, omit the content of the original part of the boot floppy disk)

12. When a: \ prompt appears, enter the following content in sequence:

    C: <enter>
    CD \ test <enter>
    C: \ test> amifl827 BIOS File

    (Whether to back up the originalBiosDetermined by the user)

14. When the system is restarted, restart the system.

 

Use boot block to recover AMI BIOS

A later version of ami bios also has a boot block.Start BlockTo restore the bios, follow these steps:

1. Replace or download the ami bios file name with amiboot. Rom. For example, the original BIOS file is a569ms23. Rom, renamed it amiboot. Rom, and saved the file on the disk.
2. Insert the disk into the drive, start your computer, and press Ctrl-home to force the system to upgrade. The System reads and upgrades the amiboot. ROM file from the disk.
3. When you hear a call indicating the end Of the system upgrade, you can retrieve the disk and restart it. You will find that the damaged BIOS file has been recovered.

This method is tested and effective, and the AMI is refreshed.ProgramThe boot module is not refreshed by default!
