Solution:
Rebooting the SP does not resolve the issue by remapping the SP to safely resolve the problem. Remapping analyzes system software errors and tries to correct them immediately. The operation to remap the SP can be found on the service system page.
All of your configuration and stored files will not be changed.
Remapping an SP requires that this SP be placed in service mode. When an SP is in service mode, it stops the I/O service to the host. All storage servers on this SP will fail over to the healthy End-to-end sp. By default, once the remapping is complete, the storage server is rolled back to the original SP. If this failover policy is disabled, all storage servers are not automatically failback to the original SP, but will continue to remain on the individual SP after switching. When all storage servers reside on a single SP, performance can be significantly reduced.
To remap an SP using the Unisphere graphical interface:
1. Click to set up-> service system.
2. Enter the service password to access the service system page.
3. Under the system components, expand the storage System.
4. Select an SP that you want to remap. If this SP is already in service mode (view the mode bar to the right of the page), skip to step 9.
5. Under Service operation, select Enter service mode, this SP is placed in service mode.
6. Click to perform service operation.
7. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.
Attention! During this time, do not perform any action in the Unisphere until the operation completes.
8. Wait at least 10 minutes until SP enters service mode.
9. After the operation is completed, click on this SP to view the mode bar to the right of the page, if displayed as a service mode indicates that the SP is already in service mode.
· By default, the service system page is refreshed every 60 seconds, showing the current state and mode of the SP.
· Once in service mode, the SP's fault led lantern flashes amber and blue.
10. Under Service operations, select Remap.
11. Click Perform service operation to initiate remapping.
12. Wait at least 20 minutes for the system to remap this sp.
13. Select the SP you have remap, select reboot to restore the SP to normal mode.
To remap an SP using the CLI command line interface:
Note: Multiple reboots are required during the SP being remap. All services will fail over to the healthy End-to-end sp. If you are connected through an SSH session, you may lose the session connection during the SP reboot phase.
1. Connect to Vnxe using an SSH session (Putty) or serial port. If you are connecting through SSH, make sure that you are connected to the SP that you want to remap.
2. Use the following command to place the SP in service mode.
· Svc_rescue_state–s
· Svc_shutdown–r
3. Use the following command to remap after the SP restarts into service mode.
· Svc_reimage–r
4. The SP reboots again and is mapped again.
5. If the SP is still in service mode, use the following command to revert to normal mode.
· Svc_rescue_state–c
· Svc_shutdown–r
There are currently no options available on the Unisphere CLI to remap the SP.
