Recently installed the server version of Windows 2000, when not installed Active Directory, access to Windows about 1.5 (my machine configuration is k6-2 64M memory hard disk is the West number of WD205BA). Because of DCOM, active Directory is installed. As a result, it took about 10 minutes to get into windows, and he spent most of the time preparing the network, estimating whether the entire network had the same domain. I couldn't stand it at such a slow pace, and finally deleted Active Directory.

Well, when you reboot into Windows, all of your previous configurations were gone, and the Start menu, the folder options were restored to the way you just installed Windows, and even the Start menu of some of the software I installed was gone. This scares me a lot, "I don't want to reload all the software!" ”。 Open the folder that the software installs, fortunately not be deleted by Windows. Try to open a software, eh, still can run normally. It looks like windows just erased the shortcuts, and the software remains. But it is impossible for me to add the shortcut one by one, this is a lot of effort!

After some setbacks, finally the personal configuration to restore the past.

In fact, Windows is placing personal profiles under E:\Documents and settings (assuming that Windows 2000 is installed in E disk). There are several folders, each corresponding to different users. And I installed Active Directory after the user is an administrator, so as long as Windows use this folder's personal configuration can restore the previous configuration.

Open Start Menu-$#@62 program-$#@62 admin tools-$#@62 Computer Management, open Local Users and groups, then select Users, then select your users from the right (I choose the Administrator here), double-click the Properties window to open it, and then select the Profiles page, In the Profile Path box, fill in the path of the configuration file you want to restore, as shown in the following figure. Then press OK to save and close the window. Then open the directory where the configuration file is located, and find the NTUSER.dat file and change it to Ntuser.man. Finally restarting Windows is OK.
