The/etc/securetty file stores the terminal name that the root user can log on to or telnet to log on.

1. If you want the root user to log on only from tty1 and tty2, modify the/etc/securetty file and keep only the following two lines

2. If you want to allow the user to log on via telnet, add pts/1 pts/2 and so on. The modified file content is as follows:

3. If you do not restrict the root user from logging on from any location, you can delete this file or change its name.
