Server upgrade

To upgrade Ubuntu 14.10 to Ubuntu, follow these steps.

Install the update-manager-core package. If the package is not ready for installation before:

  1. Sudo apt-get install update-manager-core

Edit the file/etc/update-manager/release-upgrades.

  1. Sudo nano/etc/update-manager/release-upgrades

Set Prompt = normal or Prompt = lts as follows

  1. # Default behavior for the release upgrader.

  6. # Never-Never check for a new release.
  7. # Normal-Check to see if a new release is available. If more than one new

  17. Prompt = normal

Now you can use the following command to update your service system.

  1. Sudo do-release-upgrade-d
