The topic about what mail client to use is almost a menstrual post on the new software version of shuimu. In fact, no matter what tool it is, it is a tool and you can use it with your own convenience, no software can meet everyone's requirements.
Becky! It is a small email client, a sharing software written by the Japanese. The penetration rate is not very high. I personally feel that its functions cannot be compared with outlook, but it is very powerful in terms of its size. I chose this client, mainly because it is small and occupies less resources.
The configuration of Becky is not the same as that of other clients. In fact, it works in the same way. Here I will write down the settings for sending and receiving Gmail using Becky.
Gmail supports receiving mails through pop and IMAP, and sending mails through SMTP. In addition, the sending and receiving methods are encrypted, which may cause some doubts when setting the Becky client. At the beginning, I was not able to set it properly. I always said that the user name and password were incorrect. I found some successful setting examples on the Internet, but I still cannot. The online examples are not exactly the same.
However, after some hard work, we finally succeeded. Write your own settings here: Becky! Version: 2.48.02, which is the latest version;
First, log on to Gmail in Web mode, enter settings, and enable pop and IMAP functions. The following is the Becky client settings:
POP3 settings:
Here, the two pop3s and smtps on the right should be selected, because Gmail uses the encryption method. After selection, MISC is busy setting will automatically change the port to the encrypted port instead of the standard port.
Select smtp auth on this page. You can select all the three options. You can select only the first two;
Enter the logon username and password. The pop logon username and password on the first page are the same. You can leave it blank because it indicates that the default logon method is the same as that of pop.
The following SSL/TLS setting is used to set the encryption method:
Many articles on the Internet here are different. I have tried it myself. For my Becky version and current Gmail, incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) if starttls is not selected, you can select either of them. If it doesn't work in the future, it means there may be some changes in Gmail.
IMAP settings:
On this page, select connect on starting program to connect to the remote mail server when Becky starts; the connect on opening mailbox is used only when you click the folder in the IMAP account to connect to the remote mail server.

Becky! Other tips:
- During the test of the email account, you can enable the tool-> protocol logs option, which will display the logon status to facilitate searching for the cause of the error;
- Sometimes failed to send emails due to setting SMTP errors. If you change the settings, the attempt to send emails again does not reflect this problem. In this case, you can try to exit Becky. A prompt will be displayed, indicating whether to exit or not. Select No, then you can send the email again.
- For the IMAP receiving method, the receiving method is to directly operate the email on the remote server. Therefore, after setting the IMAP account, the inbox cannot be seen, click Remote mailbox on the toolbar. After the connection is successful, the folder on the remote mail server is displayed;
- In fact, Becky also has the function of managing emails on the remote mail server for POP accounts, which is not available in many clients. In the POP account, you can also click the remote mailbox button on the toolbar, at this time, emails on the remote mail server will be listed. You can directly heap these emails to delete them. At this time, the emails on the server will be deleted.
