Users can use the spelling and grammar feature in Word2013 to check the spelling or grammatical errors of words that exist in Word2013 documents, and to set spelling correction options to make spelling and grammar checking more appropriate for their actual needs. To set spelling correction options in Word2013, the following steps are described:
Step 1th, open the Word2013 document window and click the file → options command, as shown in Figure 2013080601.

Step 2nd, in the Open Word Options dialog box, switch to the Proofing tab, where the meanings of each option are explained as follows:
(1) Ignore all uppercase words: Selecting this option ignores checking of all uppercase English words, such as word.
(2) Ignore words that contain numbers: Selecting this option ignores checking of English words that contain numbers, such as EQ123.
(3) Ignore Internet and file addresses: Select this option to ignore checking URLs, e-mail addresses, and file paths, such as www.wordhome.com.cn.
(4) Mark repeat Word: Select this option to make a spelling error prompt for a word that appears two consecutive times in the same row.
(5) Advice only from the main dictionary: Selecting this option will only check the spelling of Word's built-in dictionaries and ignore the words in the custom dictionary.
(6) Custom dictionaries: Select this option to enable the custom dictionary, but subject to the "recommendations only based on the main dictionary" limit.
(7) Check spelling as you type: Selecting this option will check spelling correctly when you enter a word or phrase.
(8) Mark syntax error when typing: Select this option to synchronize and mark syntax errors when entering the content of an article.
(9) Check grammar with spelling: Select this option to check for grammatical errors synchronously when checking the spelling of a word or phrase.
(10) Display readability Statistics: Select this option to open the Statistics dialog box after the spelling and grammar check is complete.
(11) Hide only the spelling errors in this document: Select this option to hide the red wavy lines, but the spelling checker is not turned off.
(12) Hide only syntax errors in this document: Select this option to hide the green wavy lines, but the grammar checker is not turned off.
The above options can be checked or canceled according to actual needs, as shown in Figure 2013080602.
