Generally, when using the ADSL Broadband Router, users do not pay much attention to routing settings. In fact, this is an important step to make our network more stable and complete. This article mainly analyzes how to set dynamic and static IP addresses in the configuration of ADSL Broadband routers.

1. Before configuration, briefly describe what static IP addresses and dynamic IP addresses are.

Static IP refers to a computer with a fixed IP address that can be directly connected to the internet through Modem, ISDN, ADSL, wired broadband, residential broadband, and other methods without virtual dialing, the IP addresses assigned to each Internet connection are different. This is a dynamic IP address. Because IP Address resources are precious, most users access the Internet through dynamic IP addresses. Ordinary people generally do not need to know about Dynamic IP addresses, which are automatically completed by computer systems.

Ii. network cable connection

1. connection between adsl cat and vro: Generally, the home router has five ports, namely one WAN port and four LAN ports. The network cable from adsl cat naturally needs to be connected to the WAN port!

2. connection between the computer and the router: The WAN port is connected, so the LAN port is used by the computer! You can connect all four ports. If you have more than four computers, you can simply add a vswitch and add a connection line between the route and the switch!

3. Start configuring the ADSL Broadband Router (remember to connect all the lines! Do not forget to enable vro)

1. any computer: change the IP address to automatically obtain the IP address, right-click the network neighbor attribute, right-click the local connection attribute, and double-click Internet protocol, and select automatically obtain the IP address/automatically obtain the DNS server address! And then click OK !) Generally, after several seconds, you will find that the local connection icon with a yellow exclamation mark is missing in the lower right corner. This indicates that you have already connected to the vro, naturally, the IP address assigned to you by The vro is automatically obtained!

2. Get the vro address: Now that the vroadsl has been connected, we will start the ADSL Broadband Router! How to Set it? Generally, a home-level router is set on a web page. What is its "home page" address? Next, operate this computer, right-click "network neighbor properties", and double-click "Local Connection Properties". The local connection Status dialog box is displayed. Click "support" to see the default gateway? By the way, this is the router address!

3. Open IE and enter the default gateway address in the address bar! After you press enter, you can see a dialog box asking you to enter the user name and password. Here, if it is a new vro, it has a default user name and password. The general user name is Admin, the password is also Admin. The default user name and password for all vrouters are different. I will include some common ro default user names and passwords in the attachment!

4. When the vro Management Homepage is displayed, click "Network Parameters" in the menu on the left. Three options are available. The first thing we can see is the lan adsl Broadband Router, which is the Intranet IP address of the router we just obtained. If you want to change the LAN port address, change it here! Generally, do not change it! By default!

MAC address: the MAC address of the vro to the LAN. It is used to identify the LAN and cannot be changed.
IP Address: IP address. The default factory value of this IP address is 192.168.1.1. You can change it as needed.
Subnet Mask: Subnet Mask of Class B (255.255.0.0) or class C (255.255.255.0) addresses. Generally, you can use limit 255.255.0. After the changes are completed, click the Save button to automatically restart the vro.

Note:

If the local IP address is changed, you must use a new IP address to log on to the WEB management interface of the router. The default gateway of all computers in the LAN must be the IP address of the ADSL Broadband Router to access the Internet normally, the subnet mask of all computers in the LAN must be the same as the subnet mask of the ADSL Broadband Router.

Let's take a look at the ADSL Broadband Router at the WAN port. Here we will illustrate the classification. First, let's take a look at the WAN port, which is short for the WAN (Wide Area Network. All IP addresses in the WAN settings are public IP addresses and can be accessed over the Internet. The WAN port provides three Internet access methods: Dynamic IP address, static IP address, and PPPoE. For specific configuration, first select the WAN port connection type you need, that is, your Internet access method. Generally, the default Internet access method when the router leaves the factory is a dynamic IP address.
