If a user leaves the computer for a while and does not want to shut down, but is afraid that someone will see the contents of the computer at this time, users can set the screensaver password. Setting a screensaver password can be a protective action. After setting the screensaver password, when the user leaves the computer, the computer will appear after a certain period of time screen saver (of course, depending on how much time you set the length of time to decide), and then access to the computer must enter a password, so that it plays a good role in protecting the user's system and files.
Set method
Take Windows XP as an example of how to set up your screensaver password.
1. Right-click on the blank portion of the desktop, select the Properties menu item from the shortcut menu that pops up (or open the Display icon in Control Panel), open the Display Properties dialog box, and then switch to the Screen Saver tab.
2. In the Drop-down list under screen saver, select the screen saver you want to use, and select the Password protected check box, and then set the appropriate wait time in the box to the right of wait (the time it takes to start the screen saver when the computer is not operating), and finally click OK.
Attention matters
Users are required to note that the screen saver password and the system user's login password is the same password, when the screen saver started to enter the system once again enter the system user login password.
