How to set the picture file size in a PPT presentation
1, Start PowerPoint 2013 and open the presentation that contains the picture, and select the picture you want to compress on the slide. On the Picture Tools-Format tab, in the Adjustments group, click the Compress Pictures button to open the Compress Pictures dialog box, and select the appropriate options as needed in the Compress options bar and the target output column, as shown in Figure 1. Then click OK to close the Compress Pictures dialog box and complete the compression settings for the picture.

Attention
When you crop a picture, the cropped part remains as part of the picture file, and removing the cropping part of the picture file reduces the size of the file and helps prevent others from viewing the deleted part of the picture. In the Compress Picture dialog box, check the delete cropped area of pictures checkbox and click OK to close the dialog box. The cropped part of the picture will be deleted, and if you want to compress all the pictures in the presentation, you should cancel the check box for apply to this picture only. Otherwise, the compression of the picture will be limited to the currently selected picture.
2, click the "File" tab, select options in the list on the left of the window to open the PowerPoint Options dialog box, select the Advanced option on the left, and in the image size and quality column on the right, check the discard Edit data checkbox, and then set the default target output to The Drop-down list sets the output resolution of the image according to the output, as shown in Figure 2.

Attention
If you crop or apply artistic effects to a picture in a presentation, the information that is used to restore the changes is stored in the file, and the Discard Edit data check box ensures that the information is deleted, which naturally reduces the size of the presentation file.
