How to set the Windows 7 system to not display the software in the status bar

Let's start with a conventional approach to hiding. First switch to the system tray, such as figure, there is a chat software, I do not want to let people see me chat, want to hide it.

Then click the right mouse button in the blank space of the tray area, and then click Properties.

In the pallet area property settings, click the Custom notification icon option. As pictured.

We need a thorough way to hide the notification area. The methods found on the web are basically similar to the one I proposed above, and there is no more way to explain the completely hidden approach. I'll tell you the detailed method today. Open the Start menu, and then enter the three words in the edit group in the search box.

The search results are then shown above the Start menu. As shown in figure, open this search to the option. That is, open Group Policy.

In the left column of Group Policy, click User Configuration, Admin template, and Start menu. As shown in the figure.

Clicking on the Start menu will display the relevant settings on the right. Pull down the slider to find the option to hide the notification area. As pictured.

Right-click the option, and then click Edit Options in the menu that appears.

In the editing interface, we want to select the check boxes that are enabled earlier. The default is not configured. We're going to change it to Enabled.

OK, now you have to reboot or log off. After restarting, you will find that nothing, no matter how cunning the boss can not find you are secretly running what program.

Attention matters

The first approach, though simple, is not thorough enough. Can still be found by careful others. Suitable for general needs.

The second, although relatively troublesome, but thorough enough, not to mention other people, even you can not through the notification area to know what program you are running. But this can also cause trouble, for example, when you want to connect to the network, you will not be able to find a direct access to the network connection. This method is suitable for special needs.

If you want to open a running program, you can use the shortcut key to call out the program. However, this requires you to make a basic familiarity with the shortcuts for commonly used software.
