The wireless router setting method has been introduced before. Today, we try again to better understand the setting process and the internal connection Between XP. Recently, we found that the wireless router setting method is very popular on the network.

Assume there are two computers, A and B. The configuration process is as follows:

◆ Perform operations on computer A first. After entering the system desktop, right-click "Network Neighbor" and select "properties ".

◆ In the open network connection window, we will see the wireless network connection icon. Because the current computer is not connected to any wireless network, the connection icon displays "not connected ".

◆ Right-click the wireless network connection icon and choose Properties ".

◆ Find the "wireless network configuration" tab in the wireless network Connection Properties window.

◆ Click the "advanced" button under the wireless network configuration tab to open the advanced window. By default, "network to be accessed" is the preferred access point for any available network ), we changed it to "computer-specific only)

◆ Confirm the setting method of the wireless router and perform step 6 again. This time, locate the "regular" label. Find the internet protocol TCP/IP) and click "properties.

◆ In the Properties window, we set an IP address for the wireless network card. You must set this IP address because the PC is connected to the PC through the wireless network card, because there is no DHCP service in the network as we use a wireless router to automatically assign IP addresses. In this example, the IP address is 192.168.4.1 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.

◆ This step is the key to establishing a wireless virtual AP. Repeat Step 7 and click "add" in the wireless network configuration tab.

◆ Enter the following information in the association tag in the pop-up window, including the Network Name and SSID. The author enters softerap and selects "open" for network verification in the wireless network key below ", data Encryption is disabled ". This method is similar to the SSID broadcast in a wireless router and data transmission is protected without any encrypted information.

◆ After confirmation, the virtual AP is established. We can see the network created by softerap through the wireless network search tool provided by XP, the information displayed is "the network from a computer with no security mechanism set to a computer ". So far, the operation on computer A has been completed. We have successfully established A virtual AP, and we will wait for other computers to connect to this virtual AP.

Wireless Router setting method: settings on computer B:

In fact, many operations are the same as those on computer A. We need to set IP addresses and other information for the wireless network connection of computer B. The IP address filled in by the author is 192.168.4.2, And the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. Of course, you must be sure to belong to A network segment with the IP address on computer A, so that communication can be normal after the wireless network is successfully connected.

After the settings are complete, search for networks on computer B and you will see the wireless network with the SSID name softerap. Similarly, "the network from a computer with no security mechanism set to a computer ". Double-click the connection and the connection status will automatically change to "connected". On computer B, the IP address is 192.168.4.2.) ping the address of computer A and you will find that the PING is successful, this shows that the wireless network we established between the two computers is unobstructed.

Similarly, all network operations are the same as those with a wired network. A Prompt window is displayed when you access the peer computer. At this time, we can view the wireless icon in the lower-right corner of each computer and find that "wireless network connection, speed 54 Mbps, signal strength is very good, and the status is connected ".

At this point, file transfer, resource sharing, and even online playing games are the same as those of wired networks. We have also completed the task of Connecting PCs to PCs using wireless network cards. However, you will find that such a network is the network from a computer with no security mechanism set up to a computer, which is very insecure. illegal users are likely to be connected to this network to gain a peek at privacy. How can this problem be solved? Like using AP and wireless routers, We can encrypt the wireless network from the computer to protect the data transmitted between the two.

I believe you will not be familiar with setting lan network parameters. Is the network parameter settings of popular Wireless LAN the same as the previous settings? In fact, wireless LAN is not very mysterious, and its parameter settings are largely similar to the previous settings; the following content describes in detail how to set network parameters for a wireless LAN in various operating systems.

Wireless Router setting method: Preparation

Before setting network parameters, you should correctly install the wireless network card on each computer that requires information transmission, and adjust the distance between the computer and the computer, and place the location of the computer to avoid affecting normal signal transmission. Then, configure the network parameters according to the following wireless router settings.

1. Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows 2000

Because Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows 2000 do not have relevant components to support the use of wireless networks, before you set network parameters, you must use a dedicated wireless network management and configuration program to set network parameters. Currently, many wireless network adapters are randomly attached with the Client Manager program, install the program in the corresponding operating system according to the general method, and then perform the following setting steps:

◆ On Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000 desktop, click the Start menu and execute the "program", "Wireless", and "Client Manager" commands in sequence, open the setting page titled "Wireless Client Manager;

◆ Move the cursor to the menu bar of the Setting interface, click the "operation" menu item, and execute the "add" command from the drop-down menu that will be opened later, then select the "Edit Configuration Overview" option from the lower menu that appears, so that a "select overview" Setting dialog box is displayed;

◆ In this setting box, you can click the "edit" button, and the system will then open a Setting Dialog Box titled "Edit configuration; if you do not want to use the default configuration name, you can click "add" in the "select overview" Setting Dialog Box to recreate a wireless network configuration name;

◆ If you want the computer to be used in different Lan, you can use the "add" function to create multiple configuration files, then, you only need to select the configuration name related to the corresponding LAN to quickly set wireless network parameters related to the corresponding LAN;

◆ Next, you can click the "Network Type" drop-down button in the "Edit configuration" Setting Dialog Box and select the "peer-to-peer Working Group" option from the displayed drop-down list, click "Next" on the page with the mouse;

◆ The "network identification" setting interface will appear on the screen. In this interface, you can click the "scan" button, in this way, the Client Manager program can automatically scan the peer-to-peer wireless network that can be used in the current computer system and display the results correctly;

◆ On the search results page, select the searched wireless network with the mouse, and click "OK" on the search page to exit the search results page, return to a large number of "network identification" Settings, and click "Next" to set the wireless router;

◆ In this way, you will see a dialog box titled "Set security". Here, you can select the "enable data security" check box to encrypt data during data transmission, ensure the communication security of the wireless network. In the "key" setting bar, enter the key to be set. However, if you do not transmit important file information, you may not select this check box to encrypt the information. If the encrypted transmission of information is not performed, information transmission will occupy a relatively small amount of computer system resources;

◆ After setting security parameters in the wireless router setting method, click "Next" in the interface to open a "Power Management" Setting dialog box. If you are using a laptop, you can use the mouse to select the "open" option to enable the power management function to reduce power consumption. However, once the power management function is enabled, the wireless transmission performance of the LAN will be reduced, and the information transmission rate and distance requirements will be reduced;

◆ If the power management function is disabled, although information transmission consumes a lot of power, the wireless transmission performance of the network will be guaranteed, especially the information transmission rate will be able to reach a very high standard, in addition, the transmission distance can be a little farther;

◆ After configuring the power management function, click "Next" to open the "TCP/IP behavior" Setting dialog box, here, you can use the mouse to select the "Update IP address when selecting this introduction" option, so that when a computer moves from one network to another, you can automatically update the IP address;

◆ Click the "finish" button on the settings page to complete the setting of LAN wireless network parameters.

After network parameters are set, you can transmit information to each other in the LAN. The signal may be unstable during transmission, at this time, you should adjust the distance and location between the computer and the computer. If the connection is unstable, it is likely that the quality of the wireless network card is poor, try again.

2. Windows XP

Compared with the wireless router setting method, setting wireless network parameters in Windows XP is easier. After all, Windows XP provides good support for wireless networks, you can directly set network parameters in the "Network Connection" window, without the need to install additional wireless network management and configuration software. The following describes how to set parameters:

◆ On the Windows XP system desktop, click "start", "set", and "Control Panel" commands to open the control panel window. Double-click the Network icon to open the "Network Connection" interface;

◆ On this page, right-click the "wireless network connection" icon and execute the "properties" command from the shortcut menu that is subsequently opened, in this way, the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" Setting dialog box is automatically displayed;

◆ In the wireless router setting method, you can select the "wireless network configuration" label with the mouse, and in the subsequent tab page, select "use Windows to configure my wireless network configuration" with the mouse to enable automatic wireless network configuration;

◆ Click the "advanced" button to open a "advanced" Setting dialog box, and select the "computer-only to computer-specific" option in this dialog box, in this way, computers are connected to each other;

◆ If you want to connect directly to your computer and retain the access point, you can select "any available network preferred access point" with the mouse;

◆ If an available network is found in the preferred access point wireless network, the system will first try to connect to the access point wireless network; if the Access Point Network in the current system is not available, then the system will automatically try to connect to the peer-to-peer wireless network;

◆ For example, if you use a laptop in the wireless network at the access point during working hours, and then move the laptop to another computer for use in the computer network, the automatic wireless network configuration function will automatically change the wireless network parameter settings as needed. You can directly connect to the home network without any changes;

◆ After completing the preceding wireless router setting method, click the "close" button to exit the setting interface and click "OK" to complete the wireless connection setting of the wireless LAN, if the parameter is set correctly, the system will automatically prompt that the wireless network connection is successful.
