1. High-frequency CPU is not required

2. High Stability

 

High stability is very important. Video Servers generally start up for 10 days-more than one month. If you go down when you are interested, it is not good for your internet cafe image. If you have a high budget, you can choose a 64-bit bandwidth server motherboard. This is very beneficial for continuous and a large number of I/O operations.

 

However, this type of motherboard generally costs more than 2000 Yuan. From the perspective of budget, this is somewhat expensive. Therefore, it is generally an ordinary PC motherboard that has a good reputation or your confidence in its stability. do not chase new models. I recommend two motherboard models, meijie 6BA + IV, abitbh6. these two models are old BX motherboard, the price may be 600-700 yuan or less. but its stability is impeccable.

 

3. storage subsystem

 

Storage subsystem is the key to Video Servers

 

To adapt to a large number of I/O operations on the video server for a long time, the system and video files share a hard disk is never desirable. you must use a separate disk or disk array to store video files. if you select a server board with a SCSI interface when selecting a motherboard, you can consider using a SCSI hard disk. of course, the cost is high. the price of a 30 gb scsi hard disk is about 2700. so we chose ide

7200-to-hard drive for a long period of operation is too high, and its performance is higher than 5400-to-hard drive performance, after raid amplification is useless. the price is significantly higher than 5400. this is the reason why 7200 RPM is not used.

 

Using ide raid requires at least two hard disks. Adding a hard disk to install the operating system will cost you:

The video server should be connected to the trunk switch in the Internet cafe.

Software
