1. hide files or folders
If you don't want some folders or files to be seen by others, you can hide them! The following is the specific method of action.
Step 1: In the My Computer window, right-click the file or folder and choose Properties from the pop-up shortcut menu (see Figure 1, left) to open the File Properties dialog box.
Step 2: Check the "Hide" checkbox, and then click OK, as shown in Figure 1 right.
> Read only: When a file or folder is set to this property, it can only be opened for reading and cannot be modified.
> Hide: When files or folders are set to this property, they are no longer displayed in the My Computer window by default.
Small knowledge: In Windows XP systems, files and folders have corresponding properties, such as size, creation time, modification time, and so on. These can be seen in the File or folder properties dialog box.
The file size in the computer is usually in byte (byte), KB (kilobytes), MB (megabytes), GB (gigabytes or gigabytes), TB (trillion bytes or megabytes), and their conversion is: LKB=1024BYTE,1MB=1024KB,1GB=1024MB, 1TB=1024GB the size of the file or folder is displayed by placing the mouse pointer over a file or folder.
In addition, the file has a size and the hard disk on which the file is stored has a fixed capacity. When you move the mouse pointer over a disk, the total size and free space of the disk are displayed, that is, the remaining space. When the free space on a disk is too small, the disk will no longer be able to save the file, you will need to clean up the disk in time, delete the files that are no longer needed, or affect the speed of the system.
2. Show hidden files and folders
By default, files or folders that have hidden properties are not displayed, and to display these files or folders, you can set them in the Folder Options dialog box, as shown in the following steps.
Step 1: Open the My Computer window and select the Tools > Folder Options menu (see Figure 2, left) to open the Folder Options dialog box.
Step 2: Switch to the View tab in the Folder Options dialog box, in the Advanced Settings list box, select the Show All files and folders radio button in the hidden files and folders item, and then click OK, as shown in Figure 2.
Tip: The Folder Options dialog box is used to set how files are manipulated and viewed. The user can select some of the options on the general, View tab, and try the application. Click the revert to default button to restore the default settings.
