Required equipment: A Broadband Router with several network cables

2. Software settings
1. Check the IP address of the Local Machine, enable the "local connection" attribute, and ensure that the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" attribute automatically obtains the IP address. If you select "Use the following IP Address", you must enter the IP address of the same network segment as the vro, for example, 192.168.1.100. You can enter the subnet mask by yourself. 2. Power on the vro, click IE browser, and enter the IP address of the vro in the address bar (the IP address, vro username, and password are on the vro tab), most of which are 192.168.1.1. In the following window, the username is admin and the default password is admin. You can check my password.

How do two computers share the Internet without using vro and vswitches?
I will not talk much about the hardware. The host has two NICs (USB cat is enough). The other host has one Nic, and the driver is enough! (The network cable is n meters and must use crossover lines)
Home users usually use the ADSL access mode, and generally only two computers are used in the family. Therefore, we can quickly establish a shared-bandwidth access mode by establishing an equivalent network. For ease of introduction, the computer directly connected to the ADSL modem is called the server computer, and the other computer becomes the client computer.
(1) server computer settings
On the server side, you must first create a dial-up connection for ADSL. follow these steps.
1. Create an ADSL dial-up connection
Step 1: Right-click the "Network Neighbor" icon on the desktop and select "properties" in the pop-up menu to open the network connection window. You can see the network adapter installed on the current computer in the right window, one Network Card is used to connect to ADSL and the other to connect to the client computer. Because Windows XP provides the ADSL dialing program, you can click the "Create a new connection" link in the left-side taskbar to create an ADSL dialing connection.
Step 2: select the connection type of the network. Based on the attributes of ADSL Internet access, you can select "connect to Internet" and click "Next" to continue.
Step 3: Set the connection method to "manually set my connection" to ensure that the connection can be established smoothly.
Step 4: Because ADSL has a fixed user name and password, you must select "connect with a broadband connection that requires the user name and password" in the window shown in Figure 4.
Step 5: Set a name for the created connection. For example, you can enter text such as "ADSL ".
Step 6: Enter the user name and password respectively in the window shown in, and then you can choose whether to use it as the default intetnet connection, whether to enable the corresponding firewall and other options.
Tip: We recommend that you use the created connection as the default Internet connection for Internet access.
After that, an ADSL dial-up connection is created. Return to the network connection window and you will see an additional connection icon called ADSL. It indicates that the ADSL connection has been created. Next, configure shared Internet access.
. Share settings
To allow another computer to connect to the Internet smoothly, we also need to make some settings on the server side.
Step 1: Right-click the "ADSL" icon and select the "attribute" command in the pop-up menu to enter the "advanced" tab in the ADSL Properties window, in the "Internet Connection Sharing" area, select "allow other network users to connect through the Internet connection of this computer, in the lower "Home Network Connection" dialog box, enter the name of the NIC used to connect to the client computer.
Tip: We recommend that you deselect the "allow other network users to control or disable shared Internet connections" option to prevent the impact on the server connection when using the client's computer.
Step 2: click the "OK" button in the lower part. A Prompt window will pop up. You can ignore it and confirm it.
Step 3: In the network connection window, right-click the NIC icon used to connect to the client computer and select the "properties" command in the pop-up window. The property settings window shown in Figure 9 is displayed. Select "Inrernet Protocol (TCP/IP)" in the list, and click "properties" to set TCP/IP.
After completing the preceding operations, the server configuration is complete. You only need to connect the client computer to the server.
Tip: We recommend that you set the IP address of the server to 192.168.0.1 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. Here the IP address is reserved IP address, dedicated to campus network, lan, number range from.
(2) client computer settings
In fact, after completing the settings for the server computer, you only need to set the IP address for the client computer by referring to the TCP/IP settings described above. However, you need to pay attention to the following points:
1. The client IP address cannot be the same as the server IP address, but must be in the same network segment as the server IP address. For example, if the server is 192.168.0.1, the IP address of the client can be 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.0.3. (192.168.0.0 -- 255)
2. The subnet mask must be the same as that on the server side. For example, the subnet mask must be set to 255.255.255.0.
3. Set the default gateway to the IP address of the server computer, for example, 192.168.0.1.
4. Set the DNS server address to the IP address of the server computer, for example, 192.168.0.1.
After completing the preceding settings, start the client computer when the server is connected to the Internet to directly connect to Internet surfing.
Because this shared broadband access method does not need to install third-party software on the computer, it can ensure that the computer does not conflict with each other because of the existence of various software. What's more, this shared Internet access method does not change the port of commonly used software. That is to say, you only need to install network software such as QQ and flashget on the client computer, it provides a lot of convenience for client computers. |
