Using shortcut keys in your application allows us to avoid switching back and forth between the keyboard and the mouse, saving a lot of time and significantly improving productivity. Master some of the most commonly used shortcut keys, you can quickly grow into a computer application of the master. The following shortcuts are used to format cells in Excel and are sure to help you.
Ctrl + Shift + ~: Apply the General number format
The general format does not contain a specific number format, which is equivalent to selecting General on the Number tab in the Format Cells dialog box. such as the original number format is "currency" or "percent" form, use this shortcut to clear these formats, revert to the normal format.
We can compare it by using the normal method of right-clicking on a cell, selecting the command "format cells" from the pop-up menu, and then selecting General in the dialog box. It's certainly a lot of trouble compared to using shortcut keys.
Ctrl + Shift + $: Applies a currency number format with two decimal places (negative numbers in parentheses)
Ctrl + Shift +%: Apply percent format with no decimal digits
Ctrl + Shift + ^: Apply scientific notation number format with two-bit decimal places
Ctrl + Shift +!: Apply the number format with two-bit decimal places, thousands separator, and minus sign (-) for negative numbers
Ctrl + Shift +: Apply outer border to selected cells
Ctrl + Shift + _: Deselect the outer border of the selected cell
Ctrl + B: Apply or cancel bold formatting
Ctrl + I: Apply or remove font italic formatting
Ctrl + U: Apply or remove underscores
Ctrl + 5: Apply or remove strikethrough
Ctrl + 1: Display the Format Cells dialog box
Ctrl + 0: Hide the column that contains the cell
Ctrl + 9: Hide cells in rows
Ctrl +-: Deletes the selected cells and pops up a dialog box to select
You can practice a few more times in Excel, and you will notice that some shortcuts are easier to remember, such as "CTRL + Shift +%" corresponds to "percent", "Ctrl + I" is set italic, and so on. When you are familiar with these shortcuts, you will be freed from the tedious mouse operation!
