After changing all the workstations in the lab to Ubuntu, the first solution is to share the printer on the win system. I searched the internet and found that cupsys was missing when installing the result. After I searched for the result, I found something called cupsys-driver-gutenprint, which is described as Transitionalpackage. it is estimated that this package will be used temporarily.
After changing all the workstations in the lab to Ubuntu, the first solution is to share the printer on the win system.
I searched the internet and found that cupsys was missing when I installed it. After I searched for it, I found something named cupsys-driver-gutenprint, which is described as Transitionalpackage, it is estimated that this package is used for the time being.
After searching, I learned some information:GutenprintWas formerlycalledGimp-Print. There are many advanced features see this: http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/index.php
Our goal is to use the printer ~
Step 1 install a cupsys: apt-get installcupsys-driver-gutenprint
Step 2 enter http: // printer connection host IP address: 631/printers on XP to find your printer
Select and copy the printer address, for example, https: // IP: 631/printers/HP-LaserJet-1020
Next, you can add a printer. Note that drivers still need to be installed for many printers in XP. basically, drivers are available in WIN7.
Now we can use the shared printer service on Ubuntu on Win. LOL
Possible problems:
1. printer sharing is not enabled on Ubuntu.
2. no printer driver is installed on win.
3. blank notepad will not be printed (but blank DOC will)
