How to skillfully draw a nice split line in Word

1. Add the bottom frame line

If you want to add a split line between paragraphs in a Word document, you can select the last line of the entire paragraph or paragraph first. Then, on the Start tab, in the Paragraph option group, click the bottom triangle button for borders and shading, and in the Drop-down list that opens, you can add a split line below the paragraph by executing the bottom border command , as shown in Figure 1.

You can also perform the border and low lines command in the Borders and Shading Drop-down list. Then, in the Borders and Shading dialog box that opens, select the line style, set the line color, and so on, and then add the bottom border, as shown in Figure 2, according to your personal preferences.

2. Insert Horizontal Line

In a Word document, position the cursor at the end of the first paragraph, or the header of the next paragraph, and then, in the Borders and Shading Drop-down list, execute the horizontal line command to add a horizontal level between two paragraphs, as shown in Figure 3.

The horizontal line inserted into the document automatically occupies one row, inherits the first line indent format of the previous paragraph, positions the cursor at the beginning of the line, and presses the "Backspace" key to remove the preceding indent space. Then, with a mouse click to select it, right-click, and perform the format horizontal Line command on the shortcut menu, in the Open Format Horizontal dialog box, you can format it as you want, as shown in Figure 4.

To open the Borders and Shading dialog box, follow the border and Shading command on the right mouse shortcut menu. Then click the Horizontal button and in the Open Horizontal Line dialog box, you can choose a nice horizontal line, and then click OK to see the changes in the document, as shown in Figure 5.

3. Use special symbol to draw the dividing line quickly

In Word 2007, you can also quickly draw a variety of split lines by entering special symbols in your document. You should first add a blank line after the paragraph that you want to add a split line to, and then enter the appropriate special symbol.

For example, after entering 3 "-", press the "Enter" key to draw a horizontal line, 3 "~" To get wavy lines, 3 "#" To get the middle bold three lines, 3 "*" to get a dotted line, 3 "=" to get a double line, as shown in Figure 6.
