video card memory is not normal during self test

Q: I'm using a GEFORCE4MX44064MB video card, but it appears as 64MB when the display of the video card is at post, sometimes it appears as 32MB, and sometimes it is 16MB. What's the reason?

A: This phenomenon is most likely due to the video card is overclocking or the quality of memory is not the result of. If your video card in overclocking use, then it is best to restore the video card frequency to its nominal value to use, if the self-test after the recovery is not normal, then it may be the quality of the video card itself is a problem, you should replace the video card or send a professional repair department repair.

  (1) Re-upgrade.

If the refresh fails because the downloaded BIOS refreshes the file incorrectly, you can use the upgrade method. Re-download the correct video card BIOS file and copy it to a DOS floppy disk with the Refresh program. Remove the failed video card, and connect the monitor to the motherboard's integrated video card to start the computer, set it to boot from the BIOS and shut down. Re-refresh the failed video card into the motherboard, boot up. Because at this time the computer can start, but because the video card is not available, so the monitor is still a black screen state, at this time need to be based on the sound of the computer started to judge the system has been started to DOS, and then enter the name of the refresh file. However, because at this time is a black screen state, you need to "in the dark" state of the input file name, enter the end of press Enter will automatically refresh. When you restart the computer after the refresh is complete, you can save the original video card.

However, when using this method, because the monitor has no information, the equivalent is in the completely "dark" state, more dangerous. The best way to do this is to write a batch file on a floppy disk so that it is automatically refreshed after it enters DOS mode, which is much more secure. After copying the refresher to disk A, create a new file named Autoexec.bat in Disk A, open it in Notepad, and enter the command in it:

A:nv3flash.exe1.rom

Where, NV3flash.exe is the file name of the refresh program, 1.rom is the need to refresh the BIOS file name, the completion of the save shutdown can be. Then use this floppy disk to start the computer, it will automatically complete the refresh work.

However, some refreshes will prompt you to save the original BIOS file after running, causing the refresh program to not continue. To solve this situation, you can first run the "nv3flash.exe/?" in DOS. command, view its parameters, and add the required parameters to the "/" format after the batch file. For example, to automatically complete the BIOS refresh work, you can change the batch file to: "A:nv3flash.exe1.rom/y".

  (2) Use PCI video card to save.

It's more cumbersome to use a new upgrade, but if you have a PCI video card, it's much simpler. When the refresh fails, simply unplug the failed AGP video card, plug the PCI video card into the PCI slot, connect the monitor to the PCI video card, and then power the system into the motherboard bios for parameter setting, select Integratedperipherals and press ENTER. Change the parameters in the Initdisplayfirst (video card preferences) in this interface to Pcislot. After you save the exit, turn off the computer and plug the original AGP video card back into the AGP slot to refresh the BIOS for the AGP video card again in DOS mode. When the refresh is complete, simply remove the PCI video card and connect the monitor to the AGP video card.
