How to solve virtual memory shortage

There are three ways to solve virtual memory too low:

1. The capacity of the custom virtual content (the system defaults to automatic) is too small to be sized again.

2. The system is located in the disk (usually C) the spare capacity is too small and the operation of the program is very large, and virtual memory is usually created by default in the system disk directory, we can usually delete some unused programs, and the document pictures and downloaded information and other useful files to move to other disk, and clean the "Recycle Bin", Keep the system disk above 1GB of space, or define virtual memory to a disk with more free space.

3. The spare capacity of the system disk is not small, but because frequently installs, downloads the software, and repeatedly deletes causes the file fragment too many, also is easy to cause the virtual memory to be insufficient one of the reasons, the virtual memory needs a contiguous space, although the disk spare capacity is big, but does not have the contiguous space, also cannot establish the virtual memory area. You can defragment it with disk tools.

The nine reasons of virtual memory insufficiency and the solution method The nine reasons of "insufficient memory" and the solution to the system are suggested

One, the Clipboard takes up too much memory

In fact, the Clipboard is a temporary area in memory, and when you use the copy or Cut command in your program, Windows temporarily stores the copied or cut content and its formatting in the Clipboard for "paste" use. If the current clipboard holds a picture, the Clipboard takes up a lot of memory. At this point, use the following procedure to clear the contents of the Clipboard, freeing its memory resources XP system Download:

1. Click Start, point to Programs or all programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Clipboard Viewer to open the Clipboard Viewer window. 2. On the Edit menu, click Delete. 3. Close the Clipboard Viewer window.

To differentiate the multiple clipboard provided by Microsoft Office programs, the aforementioned clipboard is often referred to as the system Clipboard. If you are using the Micros Oftoffice program and use its multiple clipboard features, you should empty the items on the Office Clipboard by: On the Office Clipboard task pane (OFFICEXP) or toolbars (Office2000), Click Empty all or empty the Clipboard. The system Clipboard will also be emptied when the Office Clipboard is emptied

Second, there are too many open procedures

If there are too many documents open at the same time or too many programs are running, there is not enough memory to run other programs. At this point, for multiple-document interface (MDL) programs, such as Word, Excel, and so on, close all documents outside the current document and exit the currently unused programs, and then perhaps you will be able to continue to perform tasks that have been interrupted due to "out-of-memory".

Third, restart the computer

If you exit only the program and do not restart the computer, the program may not be able to return the memory resources to the system. Restart the computer to free system resources, and then run the program again or perform the interrupted task.

There are too many programs running automatically

If there are too many programs running automatically when you start Windows, there is not enough memory to run other programs, even if you restart your computer.

(i) Determine if there are too many programs set to run automatically

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type Msconfig, click OK, and open the System Configuration Utility window.

3. Click the General tab, select the Selective Startup Check button, clear the Process Win.ini files check box and the Load Startup group Project check box.

4. Click OK, and when prompted to restart the computer, click the Yes button.

After restarting the computer, if the problem of insufficient memory has been resolved, you can configure the computer to boot without opening any program depth XP system download.

(ii) Configure the computer does not automatically open any programs

1. Restore the changes made in Msconfig by clicking the General tab in the System Configuration Utility window, selecting Normal startup, clicking OK, and then restarting the computer.

2. Delete all shortcuts in the Startup folder

① Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar and Start menu, and the Taskbar Properties dialog box pops up.

② Click the Start menu tab, click Customize, and then click the Delete button.

③ Click the plus sign next to the Startup folder to display a list of programs that are set to run automatically. If there is no plus "+" next to the Startup folder, the program is not set to run automatically, please click the Close button to terminate the procedure.

④ Click each shortcut in the Startup folder, and then click the Delete button. This action removes the shortcut from the Start menu, but does not remove the program from the hard disk. Repeat this step for each shortcut in the Startup folder.

⑤ Click the Close button.

⑥ Click the OK button.

3. Disable all Programs loaded from the Win.ini file

① opens the System Configuration Utility window win7 system download as described above.

② Click the Win.ini tab, double-click [Windows], and then clear the load= and run= check boxes.

③ Click OK to click the Yes button when prompted to restart the computer.

V. Let Windows manage virtual memory settings

If you do not have settings for Windows to manage virtual memory or to disable virtual memory, your computer may not function correctly, you may receive a "Out of memory" message, or the same error message occurs when you run a program.

1. Click Start, click Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Performance tab, and then click the Virtual Memory button.

3. Select the "Let Windows manage virtual memory settings-(recommended)" option to set the amount of hard disk space that can be used as virtual memory on your computer to the default value. At this point, virtual memory paging "WIN386.SWP" can be dynamically reduced and magnified according to actual memory usage, with a minimum capacity of 0 and a maximum capacity of all available space on the hard disk.

4. Click "OK" button.

Vi. increasing available disk space

Because Windows uses hard disk space in the virtual memory paging file to simulate RAM (), it is set to let Windows manage virtual memory, but when there is not enough space on the drive where the virtual memory paging file is located (by default, the hard disk partition on which the Windows system resides), There is still an "out-of-memory" error. At this point, do one or more of the following to increase the amount of free space on the drive where the Windows virtual memory paging file resides:

1. Empty the Recycle Bin by right-clicking the Recycle Bin on the desktop, and then clicking Empty Recycle Bin.

2. Remove temporary files from disk by opening Windows Explorer or My Computer window. Right-click the disk for which you want to free space, and then click Properties, on the General tab, click the Disk Cleanup button, and select the check box for the unwanted file you want to delete (Figure 3). You can read the description of each file type in the area below the list and click OK.

3. Remove expired or archived files from the disk.

4. Delete all files that have never been used.

Vii. procedural documents are destroyed.

If you are only using a program and the system prompts for low memory and other programs work correctly, the possible reason is that the program file is corrupted, which can cause memory problems. However, Windows is not exactly prompted to indicate that the program is corrupted, so try removing and reinstalling the program, and then running the program again. If the system no longer prompts for insufficient memory, then the original program file is actually corrupted Ghost XP system.

Eight, the use of memory optimization software

There are a number of memory optimization software, such as RAM Idle and Memo kits, which are two better. These software can be set to automatically empty the Clipboard, released by the shutdown of the program is not released memory, the Win386.swp file to organize, and so on, so as to exempt you from the trouble of manual operation, to achieve the purpose of automatic memory release, may wish to try!

Nine, killing virus

System infected with computer viruses is also responsible for the lack of memory, when the system appears "out of Memory" error, please use the latest anti-virus software to kill the virus, or in the removal of computer viruses, solve the "out-of-memory" problem.
