How to start scheduled tasks in Windows XP

I spent countless effort to install WinXP. To use the "Task Plan" under WinXP, I was forced to install Win2000 three times. However, to use the "fax" function under WinXP, I have re-installed WinXP. If my hard drive is 60 GB, I will use WinXP and Win2000 dual systems. However, my hard drive is only 40 GB, so I only use DOS and WinXP dual systems-however, my "Task Plan" under WinXP is still not solved, no matter what version V2, V3, V4, or Lenovo OEM Home Edition, or the original version with a limit of 30 days. What is this?

We know that it is very simple to use the "Task Plan" function under Win98 and Win2000. You only need to set it step by step as prompted. But in Windows XP, this is not the case. Now let's take a look at the symptoms. Click "start" and select "Settings" and "Control Panel" from the pop-up menu to enter the control panel.

Double-click the "Task Plan" icon. Click the "add Task Scheduler" icon and double-click it. Next, follow the prompts in the "task plan wizard" and click the "Next" button.

The "task plan wizard" will show the selection interface of the program we need to run on Win XP. If there is no desired program in it, click the "Browse" button. Because I only use the "Task Plan" to call flashget to download files (as a senior "net worm", Daily Download is a required course, but I am in a LAN, if you want to download the package at ordinary times, it will be "banned from the Internet". Therefore, I have to download the package at AM or am every day, when other people no longer access the Internet, they can download it-but at this time I have gone to bed and gone out, so the "Task Plan" can play an important role ). Therefore, you must select.

Click Browse to select. My flashget is installed under the "Program Files" Directory of drive D, therefore, you must select "my computer" from "My recent documents", "desktop", "My documents", "my computer", and "Network neighbors" on the far left", then, click the flashgetfolder in the "Program filesfolder" Directory of drive d, then click "flashget.exe" in the open Program file icon, and then click "open.

Return to the "task plan wizard" interface. There are five options under "execute this task, they are "Daily", "Weekly", "Monthly", "one-time", "Computer startup", "login", and we can choose based on our own needs. I select "Daily" and then click "Next.

In the "select Task start time and date" dialog box, I set "Start time" to the current time, mainly to verify its running effect, set "run this task" to "Daily", and "Start Date" to make the system default current date. Click "Next ".

Then, the "task plan wizard" prompts "Enter the user name and password. In this way, the task runs automatically as if the user started it himself ." Based on experience in Win98 and Win2000, you only need to click "Next.

Now, the "task plan wizard" prompts "you have successfully scheduled the following tasks". The following is the name and time of the selected task program, and click "finish.

Finally, a "flashget" Running icon is added to the "Task Plan" folder.

Unfortunately, during the scheduled time, the "Task Plan" didn't start the "flashget" program as I expected! No matter how I adjust the time, it will not help. For verification, right-click the "flashget" program icon and select "run" in the pop-up menu ". In general, the program icon can be started normally as long as it is activated and run in this way, but it is completely invalid in the "Task Plan. What the hell is going on?

To solve this very simple and useful problem, I will write out the specific symptoms of this problem, on Famous forums, such as operating system forums, POP software forums, Windows XP technology forums, computer fan forums, and systems software-remote IT Forum and Zhongguancun Forum are all posted for inquiry, the results are disappointing. All the answers are basically: "Your WinXP version is too old and new". Only one of my friends answered "yes" after the test, but there is no other answer. It seems that I can only find the answer by myself.

The system prompts "Please enter your username and password" during the setting of the "task plan wizard. In this way, the task runs automatically, just as if the user started the task himself. "If you do not enter the password, the scheduled task may not run." A problem may occur. Right-click the "flashget" icon, select "task" in the pop-up property interface, and click "set password" in "running mode.

Then, in the pop-up "set password" dialog box, enter the password you have confirmed.

The result is still disappointing. So I click "AT service account" in the "advanced" drop-down menu in the "Task Plan" menu bar to see if I can find anything.

In the "AT service account settings", the original "System Account", I tried to select "this account: Cui Xiaoqiu 1", and set the password and confirm.

There is still no response. This damn "Task Plan" cannot be started! In desperation, I selected "details" from the "View" drop-down menu in the menu bar ".

Oh, I finally found the secret! Originally, in the "details" of this "Task Plan, including important information such as "name", "plan", "Next run time", "last run time", "status", "Last result", and "author, the key "status" is clearly described as "the scheduled task is not running because the wrong password or user name is entered ".

Select "view log" from the "advanced" drop-down menu in the "Task Plan" menu bar to see what is going on.

In this log, the repeat operations are as follows:

"Flashget. job" (flashget.exe) 2002-4-2 23:34:00 ** error **

Logon to the account associated with the task failed, so the task is not running.

The specified error is:

0x8007052e: Logon Failed: Unknown user name or wrong password.

Check whether the task name and password are valid and try again.
