Solution
To solve this problem, use the start Repair Tool. The start repair tool can fix some problems that prevent Windows Vista from starting properly.
You can use the Windows Vista installation CD or the pre-installed recovery options on your computer to run the start Repair Tool.
Use the Windows Vista installation CD to run the Startup Repair Tool
If you have a Windows Vista installation disc, follow these steps to start the repair tool:
1. Insert the installation disc.
Note: The computer must be configured to start from a CD or DVD. For information about how to configure a computer to start from a CD or DVD, see the information that comes with the computer.
2. restart the computer. To do this, click Start, click the arrow next to the lock button, and then click restart ".
Note: if you cannot restart your computer using this method, use the power button to turn off the computer and then power it on again.
3. Set your language preferences and click "Next ".
Note: In most cases, the repair startup process starts automatically, and the system recovery options menu does not provide options that can be used to select it.
4. Click repair computer ".
5. In the "System Recovery options" dialog box, click the operating system to be repaired, and then click "Next ".
6. In the system recovery options menu, click Start repair to start the repair process.
7. After the repair process is complete, click Finish ".
Start the repair tool when recovery options are pre-installed on the computer
If recovery options are pre-installed on your computer, follow these steps to start the repair tool.
Note: In most cases, the repair process is automatically started. Follow these steps only when the repair tool is not automatically started.
1. retrieve all the floppy disks, CD, and DVDs from the computer and restart the computer.
2. Perform one of the following steps:
• If only one operating system is installed on the computer, press F8 when the computer restarts. You must press f8. If the Windows logo already appears, you must restart and try again.
• If multiple operating systems exist on your computer, use the arrow keys to select the operating system to be repaired and press f8.
3. In advanced startup options, use the arrow keys to select repair computer, and then press Enter.
4. Click a keyboard layout in the list, and then click "Next ".
5. Click a user name in the list, enter the password, and click OK ".
6. In the system recovery options menu, click Start repair ".
7. After the repair process is complete, click Finish ".
Note: after the repair tool is started once, the problem may not be solved. If the problem persists after the computer restarts, try again following the above steps.
