How to switch laptop dual graphics card (Graphic tutorial)

I am using a Lenovo notebook and a NVIDIA GT540M graphics card. I did not find a two-Card Switching hotkey for the independent and integrated graphics cards in my instruction. I want to know how to quickly switch the graphics card, the independent video card is used throughout the process of running 3D programs.

As long as the new notebook has an independent graphics card, it is basically switched from a dual graphics card. The difference is that Nvidia and AMD graphics cards are switched in different ways due to different drivers, if you need to customize the independent video card to start when some programs are running, in some cases, to ensure battery endurance and low heat consumption, you only need to use the core video card, you need to set it in the control panel. You cannot use the default settings.

Note:
1. Either NVIDIA or AMD technology, you can automatically switch between different video card outputs without restarting your computer. Only windows VISTA/7 systems are supported.

2. By default, a GPU acceleration feature is added during programming to wake up independent graphics cards, such as a large number of Adobe software and 3D games. In many cases, some of our scoring tools do not have the ability to wake up an independent video card. You need to specify in the driver control panel of the video card that the program needs to run with an independent video card to run the independent video card.

The following is an explanation of the Nvidia and AMD graphics card driver control panel-dual graphics card switching:

Nvidia dual-graphics switch settings:
The optimus technology developed by NVIDIA does not require user intervention. The system automatically judges the current task and selects the video card to execute the task. Of course, if the driver cannot be correctly identified, or some programs do not need to use an independent video card, but you want to run it with an independent video card, you can also manually set this program to force the independent video card to run, however, this will increase the heat dissipation burden of the notebook without any reason. The result of high conversion of the Heat Dissipation fan is that the accumulation of dust is accelerated and dust needs to be cleaned frequently.

How to set the independent video card for the whole process when running a 3D Program:
1. Right-click the desktop and choose NVIDIA control panel from the shortcut menu:

2. In the settings menu of NVIDIA, choose manage 3D settings. Then, you will see the global use set display or exclusive display options. After selecting an independent video card, when the system executes the task, it will use the video card you selected:

Video card settings for individual programs
1. Select the program you want to set. For example, if you want to set KMP as a high-performance video card, select this program.

2. Select the independent video card used by the Program:

3. There is also a simpler function, that is, for each program, you can choose which video card it calls at any time.
Right-click a desktop program:

4. If the right-click function does not provide the function of selecting a video card, perform the following settings:
Return to the 3D settings page, select a view, and click "add to context menu" in the last "Run with graphics processor" in the drop-down menu:

5. Return to the program. When you right-click the program, an option is displayed, allowing you to choose whether the program uses the exclusive display or set display.

How to switch between two AMD graphics cards:
Right-click the desktop and choose "Configure switchable display card ".

On the switch page, we can see the core types that can be switched. The dedicated display is represented by "high-performance GPU", and the set display is represented by "power-saving GPU, from the Interface Options, we can see that the switchover between the exclusive display and the set display is actually the switch between the performance and the performance you love. independently, it provides strong performance but also consumes a lot of power, although the performance of the centralized display is still different from that of the dedicated display, the power consumption is much lower than that of the set display. When a user needs a large number of graphic operations (HD playback and 3D games), switching the exclusive display can maximize the overall performance, it is a good note to switch to the set display when the user needs a longer endurance and lower noise.
