It has been almost one months since Microsoft unveiled the Windows 8.1 Public preview, but that does not mean that Windows 8 application developers can wait until the final RTM release to apply the tuning work. Today, Microsoft has brought some useful hints to the makers of Windows 8 applications, hoping to help them take advantage of the new features in Windows 8.1.
Microsoft has published this highly technical article on its Windows App Builder blog, which mentions that Windows 8.1 removes Process lifecycle management (processes Lifetime Management) The Layoutawarepage class of navigation, which is directed to split its default view model, navigation processing (handled navigation), and State feature maintenance (maintained States features). Microsoft says it gives developers more customizable models. The Suspensionmanager class still revolves around process lifecycle management, but Windows 8.1 also adds a new Navigationhelper class.
The blog also mentions the changes in some styles (styles) and data templates in Windows 8.1 applications. The preview version has two new project templates (item templates)--hub page and setting flyout. In addition, the blog provides Windows 8.1 changes to specific application productions and some of the older components in Windows 8 applications that they can remove.
