How to test the Cisco IOU Simulator

As a network person, especially a friend of CISCO, simulators are essential tools. Now the most popular simulator is cisco iou. IOU, as a testing tool within CISCO, has been circulating online since the leak. There are already many new versions. When IOU was circulating on the internet, I tested the IOU of Live CD and the later Andlinux IOU. The former is too simple, while the latter is too complicated. Today, my test platform is as follows:
1. operating system --- Windows 7 Professional Edition X32
2. VM --- VMware Workstation 8.0 memory: 512 m cpu: 1
3. Cisco IOU --- Cisco L2/L3 IOU Rack V3.0 (this is a ready-made virtual machine that has been packaged)
Because it is a virtual machine directly downloaded from the internet, the configuration is relatively simple. You only need to ensure that the virtual machine can be connected to the physical host after it is started, and there are detailed tutorials on the Internet. Don't talk nonsense!
First go to Linux:
Flyxj login: root
Password: flyxj.cn

As shown above, enter show in the command line and press enter to display the following topology:
 
 
Red indicates that the device has not been started. Now we start the device:
Enter:
ROUTE start vro
SWITCH start SWITCH
Or enter the device name to start the instance separately, such as R02, R07, S05, and S10!

Test results:
1. After 10 devices are fully enabled, the configuration and response can still be fast, and the performance is indeed strong.
2. good versatility and no functional problems.
Suggestions:
1. Insufficient topology construction. We do not recommend that new users use this simulator.
2. It is still recommended for beginners to Use PT or GNS3, and there is no need to tangle with the simulator.
In fact, the simulator is not good or bad, mainly because of the differences between personal habits and computer configuration. Don't worry about the choice of the simulator. PT is enough for you to use, and it can be satisfied with GNS3 and Xiaofan. Entry, PT is the first choice. Next, let's look at your personal preferences!
