General CPU failure has the following: thermal failure, restart failure, black screen fault and overclocking failure (CPU go to die, of course, do not forget)

One, the CPU pin contact is bad, cause the machine can not start

General performance in a sudden unable to boot, the screen shows no signal output, excluding video card, monitor no problem, unplug the CPU on the motherboard, careful observation and no burn traces, but is unable to light the machine. Later found that the CPU's pins are black, hair green, there are signs of oxidation and rust, then the CPU with a toothbrush to do the cleaning work, and then solve the problem.

The cause of the failure may be due to the cooling film will be the surface temperature of the chip is too low, too low to end the dew point, resulting in long-term CPU work in the humid environment. And the exposed copper pins in this environment react with oxygen in the air to produce a patina. The accumulation of rust too much lead to bad contact, which causes failure. In addition, there are some inferior motherboard, due to the poor quality of the CPU slot, will also lead to poor contact, a lot of data have this problem, the best way is to manually install and fix cpu!

Second, suspend mode causes the CPU to burn

The general system hangs does not cause the CPU to burn, the system will automatically reduce the CPU working frequency and the fan speed to save energy. While the suspend mode causes the CPU to be burnt down, it is the CPU after overclocking. All of this is due to the fan stop running. The monitoring chip on the motherboard can monitor the fan speed, some can also be in the system into the suspend (suspend) power mode, automatically reduce the fan speed or even completely stop operation, this is well-intentioned, can save electricity, also can prolong the life and use time of the fan. In the past the CPU is idle, the heat is not high, so the fan does not turn, only rely on the heatsink can also cope with heat dissipation. But now the CPU frequency is too high, even if you enter the Suspend mode, when the fan does not turn, the CPU will also be hot hair hot.

This is not the case for every motherboard, which must meet three conditions. First, the CPU fan must be a 3pin fan, which will be controlled by the motherboard. Second, the motherboard's monitoring function must have fan off when Suspend (fan power is turned off in suspend mode), and this feature is preset to ON. Some motherboard presets on, and even some of the power management settings have fan off when suspend this option, you can pay attention to see. Third, enter the suspend mode. So, check your computer now.

Third, "Low temperature" work can also burn the CPU

In the book read this column: "The desktop celeronⅱ566 processor running at the standard frequency (no overclocking), heating through the hair dryer to 55 degrees Celsius (using the motherboard temperature monitoring function), as long as the running CPU high rate of the program, a panic; and the Celeron ⅱ566 overclocking to 850MHz, the system temperature is about 50 degrees Celsius, running Quake III more than 10 minutes before the crash. It is estimated that at this time the temperature has exceeded 55 degrees Celsius, and its core temperature by the measured, found to have reached 86.4 degrees Celsius. It was later found that the CPU was running at such low temperatures that it almost burned down.

This is the CPU temperature detected by the motherboard that confuses us. In fact, the desktop board now reports that the CPU temperature is not at all its core temperature, because the desktop board common temperature probe does not and CPU heatsink or CPU contact, measuring only the temperature near the CPU. This has caused many CPUs to burn under seemingly low temperatures. According to Intel's data, PENTIUMⅢ550E's temperature limit is 85 degrees Celsius, and pentiumⅲ800e's limit temperature is about 80 degrees Celsius. If you lose your guard, believed plaintiff the motherboard report, thinking that your CPU is still running at low temperatures, that's a big mistake.

But the notebook computer does not appear this difference, the notebook in the CPU temperature is thermistor, temperature point at the bottom of the CPU, if the direct reading, the temperature is not so high, and its display of the monitoring temperature has been corrected, than the temperature measurement, so closer to the core temperature of the CPU. So most of the notebook test CPU temperature is the core temperature, does not occur under low temperature burned the CPU situation.

  Four, CPU frequency common fault

Excerpt: There is a computer CPU for ATHLONXP 1600+, boot after the BIOS display for 1050MHz, but the normal athlonxp 1600+ should be 10.5 times times the frequency X133mhz FSB the =1400mhz frequency. In the BIOS found that the largest can be set to 129MHz, FSB found that the board's dip switch to the 100MHz FSB, so that it is converted to 133MHz FSB, after the boot black screen, CPU fan running normally. Repeated several times are so, and then the motherboard on the DIP switch all to auto, in the default state, the system self-test is still 1050MHz. Suspected memory and graphics, such as different steps, reduced memory from 2 to 2.5, still unable to normal self-test, and the AGP video card from 4X to 2X mode, boot back to normal.

Failure Analysis: Later confirmed that this user's version of the video card is older, the default AGP working frequency is 66MHz (in 100MHz, the operating frequency of PCI is 100÷3=33.3MHZ,AGP is Pcix2=66.6mhz, The frequency of AGP at 133MHz FSB is 133÷3x2=88.7mhz, because the frequency of the AGP is increased to 88.7MHz because of the 133MHz FSB used by ATHLONXP. Therefore, the display black screen is clearly for the video card, the video card to reduce the operating frequency, the system back to normal.

Seen on the network due to abnormal CPU frequency caused by the fault, some early Pentiumⅲ or Athlon motherboards are the default 100MHz FSB, and now the new core of the CPU are 133MHz FSB. In this case, the motherboard automatically detects, the CPU is used to reduce frequency, often not be found by people. This type of situation can only be achieved by adjusting the FSB and the video card or memory asynchronous work.

  Five, computer performance decline

If the P4 computer at the beginning of the use of abnormal stability, but later performance dropped significantly, occasionally accompanied by the crash phenomenon. Then if the use of anti-virus software to kill the discovery, using Windows Disk Defragmenter to organize the process is useless, the format of the reload system is still not, then please open the chassis to replace the new radiator.

The core of the P4 processor is equipped with a thermal-sensing monitoring system that continuously detects temperature. As long as the core temperature reaches a certain level, the system will reduce the operating frequency of the processor until the core temperature is restored below the safety limit. This is the real reason for system performance degradation. At the same time, this also shows the importance of the radiator, recommend a preference for some brand radiators, but they also have grades, in the purchase should pay attention to its ability to support the maximum frequency of the CPU, and then according to their CPU each other.

  Six, constantly restart the host

A mistake was made to remove the clip from the CPU heatsink. The clip was then installed back into the heatsink as it was. Reinstall the fan power Evaluation, the results of the boot, the computer will automatically restart. Check the other parts are fine, according to the conventional experience should be the heat part of the problem. It is possible that the motherboard detects CPU overheating and is automatically protected. But repeatedly check the thermal grease and heatsink are no problem, reinstall back or repeated reboot. After replacing the cooling fan, all OK. Is there a problem with the heat sink, after repeated comparisons finally found that the original buckle is the direction of the reverse. As a result, there is a gap between the heatsink and the CPU core, the CPU overheating, the motherboard detecting CPU overheating, and restart protection. Improper installation of the original CPU cooling fan will also cause Windows to automatically reboot or not boot.

CPU with the technology and integration of the continuous improvement of the core heat is a relatively serious problem, so the current CPU on the cooling fan requirements are increasingly high. The problem caused by improper installation of the cooling fan is quite common and frequent. If you are using a CPU such as Pentium 4 or Athlon, select a quality CPU fan and be sure to pay attention to its proper installation method. Otherwise, the light is machine restart, heavy-fried CPU burned.

In fact, most of these failures are caused by their own carelessness, the common fault is mainly concentrated in the heat dissipation and frequency of two, as long as can be careful and careful can avoid similar problems, hardware things in fact, the principle is very simple, as long as to find the way ~ ~ ~ ~
