How to troubleshoot garbled characters when WinSCP and Putty log on to CentOS
WinSCP:
1. Open WinSCP and select the session to be logged on in the logon session interface.
2. Click "edit" next to it.
3. Find the "Environment" option in the tree menu on the left and open it.
4, one on the right is "file name UTF-8 encoding", select "open ".
5. Get it done!
Putty:
1. Open putty.exe and select Default Settings on the logon session page.
2. Click "Window-> Translation" in the tree menu on the left"
3, there is a "Received data assumed to be in which character set:" select "UTF-8" from the drop-down list"

Associate Putty with WinSCP:
