How to turn off the Automatic Updates feature under XP system

Conventional law

Right-click the My Computer icon, and clicking the properties item

Switch to the Automatic Updates tab, select Turn off Automatic Updates, and click OK

Service Law

Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Open Administrative Tools--services

In the right window, locate and double-click to open the Automatic Updates service

Under the General tab, click the Drop-down box for the Startup type, select Automatic, click the Startup button in the service state, and click OK
