How to upgrade VTP online through FTP during vro Maintenance

VroThe main points of online VTP upgrade are as follows:

Note: medium and low-end routers are applicable.

 

Vro online upgrade VTP Configuration:

Vro online VTP upgrade process:

1. Start windows> Run: ftp 10.0.0.1 (10.0.0.1 is the IP address of the router)

2. Enter the User name: ftp; enter the password: ftp

3. pwd // display the current vro path

4. LCD // display the PC path. Rename the vrp version file to system and put it in this directory. The system has no suffix.

5. bin // change to binary Transfer Mode

6. hash // display the transmission progress

7. get config // download the configuration file for backup

8. put system // upload the version file from the PC to the vro. The local version file must be renamed as system

Other commands:

Get system // download the version file from the vro to the PC. The storage path is the directory displayed by the LCD.

Put config // upload the configuration file

9. if an unexpected interruption occurs during transmission, do not restart the router. The correct method is to add a new ftp user local-user a1 service-type exec-adminastrator password simple a1, and from 1. the operation starts to be performed again.

10. When "file transmit success" is displayed, restart the vro: reboot.

11. When the vro restarts normally, confirm that the configuration is correct and disable the ftp service function: undo ftp enable

Considerations for online VTP upgrade of vrouters:

1. Version matching relationship. The version files with and without E vrouters are different.

For the bootrom and vrp versions of specific devices, go to the Software Center of data.w.wei.com to query and download

2. Back up configuration on PC before restarting

3. If the upgrade process is interrupted, please upgrade the correct version again. During the upgrade process, do not restart the vro; otherwise, the vro cannot start normally.

4. During the upgrade, the router service will not be interrupted during the system File Upload process.

5. There is no limit on the line between the PC and the vro to be upgraded, but the speed should be no less than 56 K.
