How to use a wireless router as a Wireless AP

With the development of wireless networks, wireless routers have been widely used in public homes. Here we mainly explain how wireless routers are used as wireless APs. Comparison

In a sense, a Wireless AP is equivalent to a wireless Hub. The main difference between a Wireless AP and a Hub is that the media connected to the workstation is not a network cable, but a wireless electromagnetic wave working in a specific frequency range using air as the media, the workstation must be equipped with a Wireless AP client, that is, a wireless network card.

Connection

No matter which application environment, once it is used as a Wireless AP, the Internet port or WAN port of the wireless router will no longer be used. You only need to connect one of the four LAN ports of the wireless router to a vswitch or a wireless router. For example, for the following applications, you only need to connect a LAN port of WGR614v5 to a LAN port of the Router: APWGR614v5) <--> Router <--> adsl modem <--> Internet.

In addition to the differences in connection, you also need to modify the settings of the wireless router. DHCP server is enabled by default in the factory settings of WGR614v5. However, a wireless router has enabled this function in the network connected to WGR614v5. Therefore, disable the DHCP server function of WGR614v5 and remove the check box before using the wireless router as the DHCP server.
