What is Lab color

Lab mode is based on a Commission Internationale de L ' Eclairage (CIE) established in 1931, an international standard for the determination of color, improved in 1976, and named a color pattern and color space. is an alternative color mode other than the RGB and CMYK color modes.

Compared to RGB and CMYK two modes, Lab's function is not available in the other two color modes, and lab mode has the advantage of three aspects: 1. Based on the human eye, the gamut is widest; 2. Non-destructive, extremely fast handling; 3. Black and white color, channel separation.

After familiar with the composition and working principle of lab color channel, we can create the artistic color palette of the photo.
