How to Use mstsc for remote login?

Step 1: Click Start> Run and enter mstsc, as shown in:

Step 2: Enter the IP address of the connected pc, as shown in:

Step 3: Enter the user name and password to remotely log on to the computer. If logon fails, the account name and password are incorrect.

Step 4: If you want to share the hard disk between the local computer and a remote computer, copy and paste it, you can select the shared hard disk when logging on remotely. For details, refer to "option"-"local resource"-"details" in step 2 ".

Symptom: When the mstsc command is used for connection, the system prompts:

The client cannot connect to the remote computer;
The connection may not be enabled, or the computer is too busy to accept new connections. You may also be unable to connect due to network problems.
Please try again later. If the problem persists, contact the system administrator.
 
Note:
1) The two computers are in the same LAN;
2) the network is accessible, and files can be printed and shared;
 
Possible problems:
1. port 3389 is not activated
[Start] menu -- settings -- control panel -- System -- remote Property -- hook up: allow users to remotely connect to this computer
 
2. The service is not enabled.
[Start] menu -- settings -- control panel -- Management Tools -- service -- locate: Terminal Services Service: changed to "start" status

3. Firewall
If both the port and service are enabled and cannot be connected, it may be disabled by the firewall. Disable the firewall or add port 3389 and allow
The firewall that comes with Windows XP is as follows:
[Start] menu -- settings -- control panel -- Windows Firewall -- Exception: Select "Remote Desktop"
