Whether you like thrilling action movies, sweet love movies or warm family movies, Windows 8 and Windows RT allow you to experience the magic of a large screen on your computer. Download or stream to transfer your favorite movies and TV programs, and then directly watch or stream them from your computer to your TV. If you have a Windows Media Center, you can watch live TV or recorded programs so that you can watch your favorite clips at any time.
With Windows, you can bring your entertainment center with you.

Browse, purchase, and rent movies and TV programs
Your computer is equipped with everything you need to get the movies and TV program clips you need.
"Video" application
Use the video app that comes with Windows 8 and Windows RT to buy or rent the latest movies or buy your favorite TV programs directly from the Xbox Video, or use the video app to play your own videos. Using Instant HD streaming media, you can directly watch the video without waiting for download.

The procedure is as follows:
1. Open the "search" super button, enter "video", click "application", and then click "Video ".
2. Scroll to view movie and TV options, browse categories, or search for specific movies or TV programs.
3. Select your movie or program, click to buy or rent it, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Watch TV, movie, and video
With Windows 8 and Windows RT, you can watch TV and movies in the right way, whether it's streaming media from your computer to TV and watching together with your family at night, stay comfortably in bed and watch the latest episode of your favorite TV shows on a tablet.
Use video applications to watch TV and movies
Use the video app to watch movies and TV programs purchased from Xbox videos or existing programs that have been moved into the video library.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Open the "search" super button, enter "video", click "application", and then click "Video ".
2. Scroll to the left, click "My Video", and then click a video to watch it.
Watch on TV
Watch on the big screen! You can use a TV to play movies and TV programs on your computer.
If you have an Xbox 360 or a "play to" compatible TV, you can stream to a TV or Xbox 360 from your computer without cables.
You can also use a cable to connect your computer to a TV. The cable type depends on the TV type and the output port type on the computer.
After connecting the cable, you can play the program on the TV as follows:
1. Open the "device" super button and click "second screen ".
2. If you want the content on your computer to be the same as that on your TV, click "copy", or click "scale" to stream movies to your TV while using your computer.
Use the computer as the remote control
If you have an Xbox 360, you can use the Xbox SmartGlass application (for free) to turn a computer running Windows 8 or Windows RT into a remote control. Interact with your favorite TV programs, movies, and sports programs to get the latest entertainment news related to the content you watch. If you start watching on your computer, you can also use SmartGlass to move the content to the TV.
Play a DVD
If you want to play a DVD on your computer, you only need to use the correct app. You can browse the Windows app store and purchase applications for playing DVDs. If you have purchased the Windows Media Center professional package or professional package Upgrade, you no longer need it.

The following describes how to use Windows Media Center to play a DVD:
1. Open the "search" super button, enter "Windows Media Center", click "application", and then click "Windows Media Center ".
2. Make sure that the Media Center is in full screen mode and insert the DVD into your computer.
3. If the main title menu of the DVD is not displayed, scroll to "movie" and click "play DVD ".
4. Use the playback control to perform fast forward, reverse, forward or backward skipping, pause, adjust the volume, and mute.
Record live TV programs and watch them later
If you purchase a Windows Media Center, you can record live TV programs and movies on your computer. You can even arrange to record the latest episodes of your favorite TV series.

If you do not have a Windows Media Center, you can purchase a Windows Media Center package.

Before you start, you need two things:
The TV tuner used to connect your computer. You can find it online or in the home Electronics City.
Go to the Windows 8 Compatibility Center to learn about the TV tuner you can use.
TV signal source (such as through a TV antenna or cable TV Jack ).
Connect the TV tuner to your computer and make sure that your signal source is suitable for the TV tuner. Then you can start watching the recording content.
Recording live TV programs
1. Open the "search" super button, enter "Windows Media Center", click "application", and then click "Windows Media Center ".
2. Scroll to "TV" and click "Live TV ".
3. To record video programs at the same time, click "recording" in the playback control.
Arrange recording
1. Open the "search" super button, enter "Windows Media Center", click "application", and then click "Windows Media Center ".
2. Scroll to "TV" and click "Search ".
3. Click the category (such as the title) you want to search for, and follow the instructions to start searching.
4. On the search results page, click the TV program or movie to be recorded, and then click "recording" to schedule the recording.
Watch recorded TV programs
1. Open the "search" super button, enter "Windows Media Center", click "application", and then click "Windows Media Center ".
2. Scroll to "TV", click "recorded TV", click the TV program to be watched, and then click "play" or "continue ".
You can use a playback control to perform fast forward, reverse, forward or backward skipping, pause, change the volume, and mute.
