How to back up and restore the system? It is very convenient to use GHOST, and almost every system disk will use GHOST, so it is very convenient.
I. Preparations
After the system is installed, the system will be backed up in a timely manner to prevent unexpected events. After the system is restored, it will take three to five minutes to complete. You will also have a completely new system.
1. Download the GHOST program, decompress the package to a non-system disk, and create a folder. For example, create a folder GHOST on the edisk and put the GHOST program and backup file under the same folder for future search and operations.
2. GHOST is a well-known backup tool. To back up the system disk, you must perform operations under DOS. The simple method is to install the virtual floppy disk startup download address, MAXDOS download address, or dwarf DOS toolbox download address, constitute a dual-start system. For how to use a virtual boot floppy disk, see how to use a virtual boot floppy disk.
3. Optimize the system. Refer to system optimization acceleration, system optimization settings, and XP system service startup item optimization settings.
4. Clean up the system and delete system garbage. See System cleanup
II. System partition backup
1. Restart and select to enter the DOS system, and go to the backup disk (enter the command "E:" and press enter) to enter the backup directory (enter the command "cd ghost" and press enter ), run the GHOST program (enter the command "GHOST" and press enter) to start the GHOST program. Press OK and press enter to go to the image below. Press the light Mark key and select "Local" & rarr; partition (Partition) & rarr; To Image (generate Image file) "(see figure 1). This step cannot be wrong. The order of selection from top To bottom is 1-2-2.
2. The screen shows the hard disk selection screen. Select "1" for the hard disk where the partition is located. If you only have one hard disk, press enter.
3. Select the partition (that is, the source partition) of the image file to be created. Use the up and down keys to select partition "1" (that is, partition C), and press the Tab key to switch to the "OK" button, press Enter.
4. Select the location where the image file is saved. Press Shift + Tab to switch back to the drop-down menu of the selected partition and press the up/down key to select a partition, for example, "" means the second partition of the first hard disk, that is, the "D" disk. After selecting the partition, press the Tab key to switch to the file selection area, use the up and down keys to select a folder. Press the Tab key and switch to the "Filename" text box and type the image file name, for example, "xp" or "C_BAK.GHO". Then press Enter.
Tips:We recommend that you create a Ghost folder in the partition before backing up, put the GHOST program and the backup file together, start the GHOST program from the GHOST directory, and then directly return to the image backup GHOST directory, enter the backup file name and press enter.
5. Next, Norton Ghost will ask you if you need to compress the image file. Here, you can only select the image file with the left and right keys. "No" indicates that No compression is performed; "Fast" means a small proportion of compression, but the backup speed is faster; "High" means a High compression ratio, but the backup speed is relatively slow. Generally, "High" is selected. Although the speed is relatively slow, the hard disk space occupied by the image file will be greatly reduced (and it will not be slow), and the recovery speed will be very fast.
6. After all the preparations are completed, Ghost will ask you if you want to perform the operation. Of course, select "yes" and press enter to create an image file for you. The backup speed is closely related to the CPU clock speed and content capacity. Generally, it can be completed within 10 minutes.
When the progress bar reaches 100%, it indicates that the backup is complete. You can press the restart button of the chassis or press ctrl + alt + del without exiting the ghost or dossystem.
Through the above work, we have made a C disk backup. When the system fails to solve the problem, we can easily restore the system.
III. System backup and restoration
1. Restart and select enter DOS system, go to the backup disk, enter the backup directory, run the GHOST program, and select Local & rarr; Partition & rarr; from Image (note that this is the "From Image" item) and restores it to the system disk. Note that the order of selection from top to bottom is 1-2-3, and RESET restarts after completion.
2. Select the location where the image file is saved. Press Shift + Tab to switch back to the drop-down menu of the selected partition and press the up/down key to select a partition, for example, "" means the second partition of the first hard disk, that is, the "D" disk. After selecting the partition, press the Tab key to switch to the file selection area, use the up/down key to select a folder, press enter to enter the corresponding folder, and select the source file, that is *. and press enter.
If you start the GHOST program from the GHOST directory, you can directly view the GHOST backup file under the Directory. Move the cursor and select.
3. The legend indicates that the source file you selected is an image file of the primary partition. Ignore this and press enter.
4. Here, the legend indicates that you can select a hard disk. If you only have one hard disk, you can ignore it and draw it back directly.
5. In this case, the legend indicates the partition to which the image file is restored. We only operate the C disk on one disk, so select Primary, which means the C disk of the Primary partition.
6. After all the options are selected, ghost will still ask you to confirm whether to perform the operation. Of course, we have to select "yes" and press enter.
Wait until the progress bar reaches 100% again. Even if the image is successfully restored, press the "restart compter" option given by ghost to restart the system.
4. Write batch processing files to create automatic system backup and restoration
For example, you can create a GHOST folder under the BAK folder on the edisk and store the GHOST. EXE program,
E: bakghostghost.exe-clone, mode = pdump, src = 1:1, dst = e: bakghostbac. gho-fx-sure-rb
Open Notepad, copy the previous row, save it, and change it to BF. BAT.
E: bakghostghost.exe-clone, mode = pload, src = e: bakghostbac. gho: 1, dst = 1:1-sure-rb
Open Notepad, copy the previous row, save it, and change it to HF. BAT.
Put these two files under the GHOST directory. After entering DOS, press BF and press enter to start GHOST backup. Then press HF to restore the system. This is a customized two-key GHOST.
Note: pdump means backup, src is the source disk, is the first partition of the first hard disk, that is, drive C, dst is the target disk, and e: bakghostbac. gho is the storage path. The file name in the directory of the edisk BAKGHOST is BAC. GHO, you can modify the storage path and file name of the drive letter according to your own needs.-fx returns directly to DOS after completion, which means partition to partition recovery, -sure: if a file with the same name is directly overwritten, after-rb is restored or copied, the system restarts. In this way, you can enter the batch processing file name in the GHOST directory under DOS to automatically back up and restore data.
