(1) Use the school Proxy to find the Proxy option in the application and set
E.g. Mozilla edit menu-preferences-advanced-agent

(2) Use a second-level proxy:
Select a second-level proxy software such as bouncer. Follow the instructions in-h. Then use the local proxy.
E.g. bouncer -- port 8080 -- destination REMOTE -- tunnel YPROXY: 8080 -- t_us
Er * -- t_password * -- daemon

Other level-2 agent software includes desproxy and eborder.
