How to use Photoshop (PS) to make the background color of an image transparent,

In most cases, the background color of an image needs to be transparent. This article describes how to use PS to make a part of the image transparent. In this example, the background of an artistic word is removed, and the text with transparent background is saved as an image separately. Procedure:

1. Use Photoshop to open the material in this example. An image with the words "sample text.

2. When an image is opened, the background layer is used by default. In this case, double-click the "background" in the toolbar (usually in the lower right) and place the image on a new layer.

3. After the above operations are completed, the layer with the original "background" will be changed to "layer 0" (the name just specified ).

4. Find the leftmost "magic wand" tool, and then find the "tolerance" input box in the corresponding magic wand attribute bar above to adjust the tolerance of the magic wand. The larger the tolerance, the larger the color range selected by the magic wand.

6. Press the Delete key on the keyboard to Delete the region selected by the magic wand. You can adjust the tolerance attribute to easily and effectively select the background area to be transparent.

7. If some of the remaining magic wand tools are hard to handle, you can use the rectangular selection tool or the plug-in tool in the toolbar for selection. Press the Delete key to Delete the selected region.

8. If there are still some unsatisfactory small details, you can use a Magnifier tool to enlarge the image and manually remove some stubborn stains with an eraser or the selected area in Step 6.

9. After the image is created, save the image. Find the Save As button in the file and click it with the left mouse button, or press the Hot Key (Shift + Ctrl + S) to directly enter the storage dialog box.

10. Save the image as PNG or GIF. Do not save it as JPG or BMP. Otherwise, the blank background will be saved as white.

11. Save as PNG in this example. After saving the file, a dialog box named "PNG option" is displayed. Click "OK.

12. See the saved file. The background of the image is transparent.
