The motherboard diagnostics card is also called a post card. The motherboard diagnostics card works by using the test results of the motherboard BIOS internal self-test, which is displayed through code one by one to find the computer board failure.

Currently on the market motherboard diagnostics cards are similar, and some are only individual functional differences, so the following introduction of the diagnostic card is more general use.

1, diagnostic display code.

2, power off, remove all expansion card.

3, open the power supply, check the light-emitting diodes indicate whether the normal (in which the BIOS lights may flicker).

Run light (bus pulse)--if the motherboard is running instructions, this lantern is shiny or not lit.

CLK Light (bus clock)--the CLK signal of the MINIPCI bus of the desktop's Isa, PCI, or notebook computer.

BIOS (BIOS read signal)-When the diagnostic card is plugged into the ISA bus slot, the motherboard is flashing when it is read to the BIOS when it is running. The four-yard diagnostic card is the opposite.

Iray (main equipment is ready)----------------iray signal, otherwise not light.

Frame (period signal) The lamp is shiny when the--pci groove or MINIPC groove has a circular frame signal.

OSC (Isa oscillation)-is the main oscillation signal of the ISA slot, the empty board should be illuminated steady; otherwise, the crystal Oscillation circuit of the motherboard does not work, but no OSC signal.

RST (reset)--power-on or press the reset switch after half a second to go off is normal; if the reset pin on the motherboard is incorrectly received by the acceleration switch or fault-connected short-circuit, or the reset circuit is bad.

12V (power supply)--the power on the empty board should be bright. Otherwise, there is no short-circuit for this voltage or motherboard.

-12V (Power)--ditto.

-5V (power supply)--ditto (only ISA slot has this voltage).

5V (power supply)--ditto.

3.3V (Power)-Desktop microcomputer PCI and notebook MINIPC slot unique 3.3V voltage, empty board should be illuminated steady, some of the motherboard PCI slot or MINIPC slot without 3.3V voltage, it is not bright.

5, check the post code is wrong.

6, if there is a fault, turn off the power, according to the "Post code meaning" row wrong, after the wrong row to return to the 3rd step.

7, turn off the power, plug in the video card, I/O card, hard drive and expansion card, then open the power, check the post code.

8, if the post code is wrong, turn off the power, according to the "Post code meaning" row wrong, after the wrong row to return to the 3rd step.

9, the test results are normal. Then the self-test should be successful. If you still cannot boot the operating system, it should be a software problem (or a disk drive, disk controller, DMA circuit failure, and so on).
