How to use the Linux mc command

Mattrib is the mtools tool directive that simulates the attrib directive of the MS-DOS and can change the attributes of the MS-DOS file.

Syntax

Mattrib [-a | + a] [-h | + h] [-r | + r] [-s | + s] [-/] [-X] msdosfile [msdosfiles ...]

Parameters:

  • -A/+ a remove/set backup properties.
  • -H/+ h remove/set hidden attributes.
  • -R/+ r remove/set the read-only attribute.
  • -S/+ s remove/set system attributes.
  • -/The returned processing contains all the files in the subdirectories.
  • -X outputs the result in a shorter format.

Instance

Lists the attributes of all files on the MSDOS disk of slot.

Mattrib:

Remove the hidden, system, and read-only attributes of the msdos. sys file on the-slot disk.

Mattrib-h-s-r a: msdos. sys

Except for the read-only attribute of all files in sub-directories on the-slot.

Mattrib-r-/:*.*
