How to use the RAND function in Excel to generate random numbers

Source: Internet
Author: User

When we need to generate some random numbers, such as the Unit lottery, the selection before the sports lottery, and so on, we can use the RAND function in Excel to produce these random numbers. The RAND function returns an evenly distributed random number that is greater than or equal to 0 less than 1, and a new value is returned each time the worksheet is calculated. As long as we combine rand () with the INT function, we can produce random numbers of various digits.
"=int (RAND () *10)" produces any number of natural numbers from 0 to 10
"=int (RAND () *100)" produces any number of natural numbers from 0 to 100
......
Thus, we only need to enter "=int (RAND () *10)" in 7 (or other size) cells to produce a 7-bit random number.
